  • I think the commercial is SO weird and random but kind of cool. I get it but I don't know if everyone would get it.............

  • what "gene kelly dancing" has to do with a car is illustrated beautifully by the tagline of the advertisement: "the original, updated." do you not get that?

    i don't know if you think you're teaching people to be savvy, but you're not... you're just making glib assessments. do you think that all ads should display, with absolutely no imagination, ONLY the product being sold? that would just be boring... marketing is an art, and this is a fine example of it at it's best.

  • Thanks for your comment. However, you are incorrectly addressing this to the wrong party. These are statements these students made based on their impressions of the ad and the affect it had on them. It would be wrong to question their opinion of the ad, and more importantly, the impact it had on them.

    Clearly it doesn't accomplish what you assert to an audience (our class) looking critically at commercials.
