havn't been able to sleep more than 4 hour / night these last 4-5 days and I usualy sleep around 9hrs so it's like half of what I need. and I feel my eyes hurt, my body is fucking tired as shit and I can't fall asleep agian. I just wake up for no damn reason what so ever and always after 4 hrs =/
I actually drank a 6 pack of beer under the hours before I went to bed, cuz i thought it might help, I fell asleep fast, but still 4hrs later I wake up. really has a huge impact on me while working =(
I have a massive problem sleeping which I have had for years! I got an iPod touch a year ago and I stupidly stay up all night on YouTube and on the Internet etc as it is so easy just to quickly go on! I have been up until 3 in the morning and have set that as my sleeping pattern but now I have to get up at 6.45! I have tried going to bed at 9 but I just lie there for ages doing nothing and still don't get to sleep! Help! :/
I found this guys blog who posts different tips and ideas to help with insomnia that arent just "take ambien or exercise more! its more unorthodox and actually very helpful tips. he also adds entertaining stuff like nightly song suggestions to help you sleep. He only has a few posts but hes been updating them regularly. Its pretty cool some of the stuff he mentions, Id say its worth at least checking out.

Cont. So as long as you get up earlier that's your focus. going to bed half an hour earlier will happen naturally to pay-off the sleep debt accrued in the morning as you should be tired earlier
Ultimately if you are trying to go to sleep earlier the key is not what time you go to bed (initially) but what time you wake-up. You want to ensure you wake-up 30 minutes earlier. This forces your body into a mild sleep-debt which your body then pays off the other end by going to bed earlier.
Hi Kaizerydeco. Absolutely most people find they just wittle away the hours and that just adds to frustration of wasting time and not getting sleep. Great post.
I think one thing 'night owls' must also ask themselves is, 'why must I stay up so late? What is it that makes me want to stay up late?' If the answer is 'nothing important' or 'I can't think of a concrete reason' it might make altering one's bedtime schedule easier to bear. If we're not really doing anything special in the wee hours, we aren't really missing anything going to bed earlier, and the ability to enjoy an early morning would be a real bonus to anticipate.

Yeah absolutely. You need to set up a Sleep zone dude. I think I explain it in one of my vids, if not it's on my blog. That should help.

What if you change the time you go to bed but you don't fall asleep within 30 minutes? Do you get up and do something and wait until you get tired?
