Trying to match Steve Mariott is a lot to ask of any singer. These guys do a heck of job! Richie comes close... damn close! And musically I hear what Humble Pie did with a slightly modern twist. Will look for a version with Paul Gilbert later.
@annmarie0331 This song was written by Steve Marriott and not Frampton. Peter had already left the Band when 30 days was recorded for the Smokin albun
Richie Kotzen is a fucking monstrous player, but I think Paul Gilbert was a better foil for Eric Martin. His little fills and stuff on this song in particular injected humor and fun into it, where Kotzen seems to take himself really seriously. On the flip side, hearing Kotzen sing this is sooo great
@primarydominant Yeah, I'd agree with this. I prefer Richie much more as a player, but I think he's much too introverted for such flashy, over the top band.
I love his sound here too. It's a great combination with Eric's voice of this era. I remember I was listening to Get Over It tape until its film was loosened.
Richie Kotzen..... i know you're Great!
