Yeah, why CAN'T we just bring them here? Then suddenly their labor will be worth 4 times more???
Because then it won't be worth 4 times more. It's called supply and demand.
Actually we have been bringing them here. It's Californians like Simon who've been encouraging it. The result? California is over $21 billion in the hole this year alone. Over 66% of mortgage defaults (by dollar value) are in California. A huge number of the defaulters are Hispanic.
He was so concerned that his Mexican employees were only getting paid $2.00 an hour, But he damn sure didn't CHOOSE to pay them $5, $6 or even the $8 he claims they would have gotten if they invaded America and worked illegally here. Nothing but his own greed kept him from paying HIS employees more. His own Greed is what took him to Mexico in the first place to get the cheap labor. What a pud!!!!
You say you're proud to be an American, yet you didn't hesitate to move your factory to Mexico for the cheap labor. You're part of the problem, not the solution.
Just like water will flow down hill things are going to get made in the place where they can be made at the lowest cost. Mexico was a good choice for a decade now all the manufacturing jobs are leaving Mexico and going to Asia. But employment in the USA is at record highs. Because we have a better deal for doing lots of things, just not manufacturing. What is the problem?
Why dont you lobby mexico to open their sourthern border to guatemala? WHat would you do if Im in need of money and I break into your house and take what I NEED? Why do you think this side of the border is better? Do you think someone looked at both sides and said, lets me put a border here. Or were we the same at one time and mejico stayed behind and america excelled? Why has mejico stayed behind? Is america responsible?
Soy I'm pleased to see that you watched both of my videos. I do argue for all nations to allow 1% of there populations per year immigration. Unfortunately lobbying is not a skill set I have. The USA has excelled because of a better combination of freedom, culture and rule of law than most other countries. That people want to move here should be a great point of pride for all of us.
You have no concept of rate as it relates to population growth. Most people deal with rates in regards to money, where 1% is low. Populations don't grow in years but in generations of about 30 years. 1% annual immigration is 30% per generation, assuming the age distribution of immigrants is the same as the general population. It is not. Most immigrants are in their childbearing years, whereas most Americans are not. "1% immigration" is > a 3% increase in childbearing population EACH YEAR.
"The USA has excelled because of a better combination of freedom, culture and RULE OF LAW than most other countries."
Ahem...rule of law? What would that be? The USA has excelled also because of an educated populace. But educational attainment is now dropping rapidly thanks to illegal immigrants, 1/3 of whom have less than a 9th grade education.
Oh, but wait - we NEED unskilled workers, but only if they're not Americans. Which is it? The contradictory arguments have set my head spinning.
I can understand your passion on this issue. It is scary to think about being overrun. But it is unlikely to happen. We do have open immigration with Puerto Rico and only about 20% of their population has chosen to live in the USA. The flow from Mexico is already slowing down. At Radical Immigration (Google) we think all nations should allow immigration of about 1% of their population each year. In the case of the US 1% is about 3 million people. This is a manageable number.

But that's racist to say.

Yep, employment here is at "record highs." Our economy is just hummin' alomng thanks to illegal immigration!
Remember when we needed all of these illegals to build our homes - the homes that have now caused the biggest financial crisis in 70 years?
