  • Comment removed

  • why the poofy hat?

  • can't here the track... everything recorded real low-fi. what's up with that?

  • FUNKY!

  • solid!

  • any tabs? sir?

  • trying 2 impress the ladies>?

  • nice playing mate, love the song, the guy going on about sliding, is chattingbullshit.

  • Nice

  • Man your ok with me thanks Nice bass what is that

  • mate, honestly, what you just said seems like a non-sens. =/

    "usually" ? wtf

by the way, great playin Greg 5*

  • If he wants to add his own flare occasionally then just let him. It's not a big deal and it's not like it killed the cover >_>. Nice playing.

  • much better than RHCP version, in my opinion.

  • The original bassline is played by Sly himself (Fender+flatwounds+muted thumb playing).

  • Nice!!

  • yea your like the gayest thing on youtube since april 07, 2007.

  • its played in 432 Hz

all sly's songs are in 432, because trumpetists and all other instrumants wich requier blowing air into them, are tuned in 432 Hz, while all other instruments are (since Hitler) tuned in 440 Hz. Hitler had set the standard to 440Hz so he could manipulate minds (his freaky idea), because 440 hz resonates the head, and 432 resonates the whole body. Playing in 432 Hz gives a better sound either, you should try it. Sly does it!

  • Wow, serious??

Never heard that story, i'm going to try that!

Have you experienced that it's a better sound and resonates your body etc?

    Thanks:)

And about the vid, it's good. But the bassplayer in the song uses his thumb and mutes the strings with his palm. Try that! it;s sounds way better^^ well if you want to sound like the original:P

  • This is equally as cool as when Kenny G imposed himself playing over Louis Armstrong. If you think that's cool then you'll love this! PS I'm more in the camp of what Pat Metheny thinks about it.

  • good cover.sucky hat putz

  • thats stank funky!

  • ha! nice hat dweeb

  • The hat... HAHAHA XD

  • dude, you are so not cool

  • can you post a video of you playing the song but teaching it also cuz i have been trying to learn the song and it just wont go anywere.

  • Whoa! That's dark!

  • just cant do it** i meant

  • iv been trying to tune to the cd and i just do it, any body know how its supposed to be tuned?

  • ive noticed that a lot of sly songs have this weird between E and Eb tuning. you can really hear it on 'Everyday People'. I just tune to that first Bb when i play this.

  • yeah its a quarter tone out of tune, between Bb and E, just tune your guitar to the song, then try and learn it.

  • show your bald head.

  • Puta merda, esse som agrada meus ouvidos, Muito Bom, Muito mesmo.... :)

  • fuck these people anyone who listens to sly is

    one cool motherfucker

BUT U NEED TO SLAP THAT SHIT MY FRIEND!

  • short long short long, punch out the short notes as staccato as possible. listen to Pino on D'Angelo's cover of Feel like makin love. and if you wanna wear that hat and try to look badass, at least don't look at the camera, as if to say "i look way badass right now, don't i" while awkwardly bobbing your head. these things distract you from the music. ask yourself if you care more about sounding good or looking cool. one might even naturally lead to the other, who knows..

  • how the heck did you tune to this? I though that recording didn't have it tuned in 440Hz

  • sure he does a good job, but the hat is what pushes it over the top. respect

  • OALman, no, it isn't.

  • Yes, he is.

  • Are you in standard tuning?

  • Great job. Very cool.

  • hi man and everybody. Is it needed the 5 strings to do that bassline well done?

  • hey man a five string bass is not needed for this if you see larry graham do this he only uses a 4 string moon bass the difference is that you have to know your octaves soo that you can figure out the fingerings

  • No, you don't need 5 strings. Flea play it in original at 4 strings, all RHCP songs are played at 4 string bass guitars ;)

  • except for funky monks. :)

  • that was very nice thank you!

  • Sick! Awesome job!

  • groovy man, groovy!

  • great bass skills....

  • lol this is a very easy bass line to play whats so great about his skills?

  • groove?

  • the bassline itself is straight forward, but you need to be good to be able to make it groove. there's a lot of bass players who can play flashy stuff, but can't groove, and if you can't groove, no one's gonna listen to you.

  • Sweet dude! I play bass and its hard to make those changes man...perfect...good work man...

  • Sweet. Wish the audio was better, but oh well. My second favorite bass line behind "Bernadette" by James Jamerson.

  • most excellent choice of track. Have myself lost a few days ( understatement )Jazzsheba

  • Nice

  • That was awesome! 5 stars!

    Much Love,

    Sheryl : )

  • it seems to me, that i've got the wrong tabs.

could you give us the right one?

  • where'd you get the tab for it?

  • hey scissorhands graham didnt lay down the bass track on that song

  • He did when they were on Rock Concert in the 70's.

  • Sorry It was Rustee Allen Easy mistake larry Left the year before.

  • Phenomenal!! You did Larry Graham Proud

  • nice

  • dude nice, can you give me some pointers on this song im trying to learn it myself
