The cover is digipak right? How do you prevent it from decomposed? I just afraid that my 'Seven Samurai' and 'The Battle of Algiers' from Criterion too, get decomposed. Btw, nice kid you get there :)

@Rodzikovich Thanks you, this is her favorite thing to watch lately! I have never had issues with digipacks decomposing. I didn't know it was a problem. Do you mean literally falling apart? Or the occasional edge getting bent from shelfware?

Very excited to pick this up. I too have been waiting years for this, I was so disappointed with Classic Media's release of Gojira, it was just terrible...

Criterion's releases may cost a bit more, but they're completely worth it. They always release what they get their hands on at the highest quality. If only they would be allowed to do transfers for the unaltered Star Wars OT, that would be heaven, haha.

Fortunately there is a British company called bfi that did a nice release so I will just pick that one up and who knows. If I get a chance at this great criterion release I might take advantage. Your kid is adorable. Great video, man. Absolutely pumped to get this when it comes out. One of my secret wishes is that they will eventually release every one of my favorite movies onto the criterion collection. Totally worth buying, despite the slightly stiff price.

@FilmFanPete Well, one of the movies that I am still waiting for them to release on to the Criterion collection, would be Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and 1974 caper-comedy with Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. Such a classic. Also, I just found out that Harold and Maude is coming out onto the Criterion collection on April 17. Sure, it's still a bit of a wait, but it should be worth it.

Has been on my Wish List for a while. A Godzilla film put by Criterion is a thing I never expected to happen. I read reviews and already people are digging this release. As for other Godzilla films, none of the Heisei films (84-95) has gotten any decent release. They need better DVDs let alone Blu-Rays.

Although I do have to make a criticism regarding the packaging. I have never seen Criterion do gimmicky as the Pop-Up thing. I didn’t mind it so much as the Godzilla suit used is the one from Masaaki Tezuka’s Mechagodzilla films. This is where I think Classic Media’s DVD set is better at.
