From a magician who has performed this effect I 2 have made the blunder. Only with my own hand. I would say never ask anyone to help perform a stunt unless you know it to be 100% safe. I stabbed myself doing this stunt because I used an unsafe method but to call on someone else to help you in your insanity is just callous. Hey guys, just to clear this up - the magician is the one to blame. The woman did NOT move her hand over the wrong cup at the end. The trick is often performed where the magician holds his hand over the cup with the spike and "almost" slams it onto the spike but then changes at the last second to the safe cup. He THOUGHT the safe cup was the other one (obviously not...). It was 100% his fault and not her's at all!

When you hit it the other cups without knife will bounce cause they are lighter than the cup with the knife. But its still so random and has change of failing. Its like playing russian roulette.
