Do you know off hand if you're able to transfer files from one xubunto OS on a pc to xubunto OS on a ps3? I'm looking for the best way to transfer movies to my computer to the playstation, so I can watch them on the tv, without having to burn a new dvd each time.

under normal conditions no. but, there is an open source program called wine that you can run and it allows any unix based OS (linux and macOS) to run windows applications.

I am doing this on my PS3 right now after having tried YDL6. I thought YDL6 would come with WiFi support. I'm shocked Xubuntu 7.10 performs better on PS3 than YDL6 does, but there you are. A lot of people are asking for help on WiFi in Linux with PS3. Any help please?

Everything seemed to be working just fine, but the final install bar seems to be frozen at 15% for the last 30 minutes... should it take this long? I don't know how long is too long. I supose if this doesn't continue I will have to full format the hard drive and try again?

click on "System" and go to "update manager"

to update upgrading Ubuntu to verison 8.04 LTS

okay guys, depending on you monitor resolution.

For me I got dell 24' monitor so I set it on RGB 60 which is #60 on Video Mode...try figuring out yours... And as for the internet...after fiddling around in xubuntu...click on the network icon on the top right corner on the left hand side of the time...next unchecked the roam box and downscroll to automate in the dropbox...oh don't forget to hook up your ethernet cable...

Hi dude. i've just wrote Install video=ps3fb:mode:6 and it's take way more time then it did for u to load. and after it had load i can't see the full window, only the half window so i cant see everything which results in that i cant continue the installation.

Any idea what to do?

Hmm...What about the VIDEO card? I mean for compiz-fusion stuff the xorg.conf file should know which one is your video card and how it is set. How am I gonna to make this happen?

What if there is no driver support for PS3(once it must be a restricted)? Who is to say that my VC will work properly or it will be automatically recognized?

Hey thanks for the help man. But I have a question on the burning process. I burned the OS to a Disc, and when I searched for it on my PS3 it said that no installer was found. I`m going to try once more tonight with a CD instead of a DVD. Why won`t it find it? Thanks ahead of time.

Did you have to do anything to get your keyboard to work in the kboot menu? Because mine only works during the actual installation(I have to wait for it to start the install automatically) I seriously want to body slam my ps3 because there in no real reason it should be doing this...also when it finish the install do you let it reboot itself after it ejects the disc? because I seriously left it on for hours and it stood exactly the same(didn't reboot itself)Any Help at all will be appreciated.TY
