Whenever I know its supposed to snow overnight, I always set my alarm on my ipod to this song. Nothing beats waking up to freshly fallen snow, and a frigid sounding SNES classic ^^
Every now and then I do a run through this game on an emulator. Still one of my favorites. I remember hours listening to this as I leveled up Salamander >.>...and I mean HOURS. At least it was great music to listen to while doing it ^_^
so this is my favorite part in every single snes game ive ever played. i literately started my game over just so i could play this part!!! and its soo beautiful. i think of it when im walking in the snow. the ice palace song is cool too :P
Whenever I hear this song I almost relax a little too much. You know that feeling when your entire body tingles? I almost pissed my pants, I was so relaxed.
Composition wise, I think they could milk it a bit more. It's too short. Otherwise one of my all time favs.
ah SOM ive played this game like 13 times all the way through many times with friends using online. but the key thing that always brought me back was mostly the music and battle system. i just pisses me off all "gamers" these days care about is bloodthirsty action scenes and graphics, barely ever story or music. ive played some pretty horrible control games in my time but music and story more then make up for it. the day of gaming died with snes and psx 2 systems i hold dear
I think the ps2 days were still strong, what with FF 10 being an amazing game, and a lot of other solid titles on that system as well. But I completely agree that all the "mainstream" gamers nowadays are not true gamers like us who appreciate rpg's over the counterstrikes and call of duty's and have played the classic masterpieces from the snes and ps1.
I know exactly what you mean, i actually do enjoy call of duty for the online. But when it comes to an enthralling story it just doesnt quite do it like final fantasy or chrono trigger. I wish there was more story telling in mainstream games but i might as well enjoy whats there. Call of duty may be fun now but once the new version is out, hardly anyone will be playing it. But im still playing chrono trigger over again just for the story.
@piscespeter3 Indeed SNES was the GOLDEN Era of RPGs The greatest of Games to be played....Stories that take us to the Past and to Distant Worlds of the Dreams of Hearts ;^_^;
I think Secret of Mana has one of the most underrated soundtracks in gaming. Yeah it's really popular but gets overshadowed by the FF's, Chrono Trigger, DQ's ect. ect. of it's time when really I think this surpasses them all..
It's not the same without the "bur-bur-bur-SWOOSH-THWACK-beeple-beeple-beeple" noises going constantly :)

I definitely loved this music. So peaceful and beautiful to match the snow and crystals.

I had this song in my head walking through the woods after the snow we had in January this year...

This is one of the reasons that I LOVE snowy landscapes in games.
Some other examples would be Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime and Wep'keer from Okami.
Beautiful. <3

@DogLeroy It's called less is more. It's a pretty simple theme... but in it's simplicity lies its brilliance.
