@NoFatGamer you would need to write a wrapper for darkbasic, when darkbasic can point c functions then it should be possible

After you buy it, you get the source, but it is not open-source.

From the Leadwerks website:

"The engine is offered as both a dynamic linked library (DLL) and BlitzMax module."

Allegro is your best best *IF you want free*, as GPL (the license the majority of open source is licensed under) requires that you distribute, or offer and make known the offer of, the source code of the resulting work, whereas Allegro has basically a giftware license.
