My brother's company recently completed one of these wind turbines for a client on a urban farm ranch. Makes power for the house so they don't have to pay so much money to the power company.
This is the best concept for vawts posted on Youtube. Good work !!! I guess with magnetic levitation there's no waring out of lagers, becouse there are none ?
im amased at this, its 10 Kw, in a three meter tall construction, wich to top it off, is almost silent compared to the vertical pivot type windmills beeing built all over the world. if it had a lower priced one at say 2.5 kw i would be wery interested.
really, really cool stuff. i love the magnetic levitation for a frictionless bearing. super efficient. i use magnetic levitation in my magnetic pulse motors. thanks for the time to post video...

Pure genius.

I'd like to know what kind of anchoring structure is necessary and what is the max rated wind for this thing.

..and of course 100% efficient is a joke, isnt it round 40% with good quality stuff?

how does it not get blown off the bearing and how much energy does it take to power the magnets?

How often do you polish it :-)

YEAH 10 kw if the wind was 50 knots!!!

This is a beautifull Idea.....Much much better then thoes big very costly sheet... GOOD WORK MAN.............

it might put out a little power..... tiger woods needs one.
IronHorsez88 1 year ago
This is cheating! This thing can make 10 kW at 25 mps wind, that is a storm! At 5 mps wind, it makes 100W. Yes, one hundred watts.

How much does this thing cost? I think every building must have a maglev VAWT to offset our dependency towards fossil fuel powered power plants.

they mean 10k(Joules per century)....i think thats the new 'Watts' they use in small wind!
alamamierda 1 year ago
wait a minute, if its magnetically levitated what drives the turbine?
vikramvaranasi 2 years ago
we can only harness 59.8% (MAX) of available energy in wind...
abeerbeer1 2 years ago
If that has an area of 4 square metres, and it is 100% efficient, it will require winds of 57kM per hour to generate 10kWatts

That thing is big. I wonder what kind of stresses it adds to the roof in a high wind?

Sorry for my ignorance, I'm new to this stuff. Are there also radial magnitec bearings? I can only find the axial ones so far.

how high does it have to be to get 10 killowatts

i cant believe you put it on your roof !! i mean, obviously it wouldnt work in the garage, but its BIG ASS turbine.
