You're partially right. The main plot is also different, but the gameplay is definitely attributed to Donkey Kong '94. There's no Pauline this time, DK wants the Mini-Marios.

After watching this I replayed the boss and set a personal record of 47 secs.

Not bad but there are times you avoided several hits because you were worried about dying. You tend to avoid all confrontation during the atrack in which he puts two barrels on the ground. On a lighter note: 0:47 that was a really close call there.

DK must realy have issues to put that whole MECHA DK together, pay for big ol mechanical sound effects, and but some weird background music... All for a clockwork toy.
