Yes but corporations have no power by themselves, they rely on government power - specifically on the state's MONOPOLY on the legal right to initiate FORCE against the people.

Corporations (or anyone with money) can bribe governments to pass laws (ie force) which favours them. You only get to choose between 2 parties every 5 years.

They encourage citizen participation in decision making and transparency of politics.
