  • My health insurance runs out in 3 days! However, I'm not stressing it too much since I just started my own business (on the side) and I'll receive a medical/dental card for myself & my entire household for only $39.95/month. It's pretty awesome! For those interested, just add me or PM me.

  • ...so who paid for your time in the hospital

  • MANOFTRUTH---I'M 54. LOST MY JOB FROM CIA/LOCKHEED MARTIN LAST DECEMBER, 2010. MY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE WAS QUOTED AT AROUND $500.00 PER MONTH....JUST FOR ME. SCREW IT.

I'M ON MY OWN.I'M ON YOUR SIDE. FUCK THESE FEAR MONGERS. GOT NO FAMILY....IT'S EASIER. I PLAN TO RETIRE AND SURVIVE WITHOUT THAT MONEY BLEED.

  • very ironic video, considering your health is in the pits now

  • Sorry to tell you we all pay for the ones that can't pay or won't pay...it's called higher premiums for us that actually have it...we the ones that work and pay for our health care pay for you that don't have it.....get it!

  • @thecoolestgrey I have never heard of a doctor turning away someone from an accident...............you are just as fucked with socialized medicine....anything of a serious nature and you will not receive proper care.....and I think you should read the facts...Obama's Health Care will definitely be paid for by a small percentage of people.....in other words.....why should anyone work extra ?...all that will do is raise your health care costs....the premium ....

  • I bet I know what else you drink.....cum..get it you sound gay.....do yourself a favor youtube search glenn-beck-healthcare-john-stewart and listen to your hero in his own words......oh and I hope your "essential oils" can put you back together when you get ran over by a drunk driver and hopefully you dont have any assets if that happens b/c the hospital will sue you into complete destitution....newsflash palinhead dunder skull we already have death panels they are called insurance adjusters

  • @dbeezycentex dude....the only people who will receive FREE health care under Obama is poor people anyway....if you make money you will pay a very hefty premium and if you dont the IRS will incarcerate you..........it makes no sense to work a full-time job if you make between minimum wage and $17 per hour......a wise man would just work 30 hours and collect free health care

  • He is crazy and he need mental health insurance and need it quick. He is just poor and cannot afford insurance. He has been watching too much Glen Beck on Fox news. Glenn Beck has the best insurance that money can buy. Everyone that works for Fox news has insurance and it is crazy that they have fool the public into believing that health insurance is a communist plot to control them. One day he will get sick and I don't care what he eats or how far he walks. He will get sick that life. He nuts

  • Yup, the sun and healthy food is gonna work great for that broken arm.. or the finger that was accidentally sliced off while your were working in the garage.. To actually think that Eating healthy and working out is all there is to health care is sad. Hawaii has a health care system that works just fine and hasnt bankrupted them. you should look into that. Seriously dude Ive seen your other vids I know youre smarter that this.

  • ya man lavender coconuts and water is gonna keep you healthy. France has the best health care in the world, it is socialized and successful. The thing keeping it from being a success in the states is this arrogant perspective that health is limited to diet and exercise. It does not make sense for an individual that get into a car accident pay $50,000 for a broken leg. Plus usa is one of the least healthy countries in the world anyways.

  • You know over 90% of French citizens have private health insurance...thats right..cause the main systems doesn't cover "broken legs" adequately.... and being healthy is irrespective of a health care system

  • please read third post first. you know how it goes...

  • And I workout, lift weights, and am healthy because I don't go to doctors. When i broke my arm and wrist in dec. 08 i had some health ins. with an 11,000 deductible, it did help make the payments much lower. I decided not to have surgery, and told the doctor, i am strong for a 57 yr. old woman, he didn't like that he wanted to put screws in.

  • I am all healed up like a miracle my arm bone grew out like a branch and filled in the crack, he said it looked like someone pushed my wrist back into place. Did my own therapy took extra D, calcium, and faith in the Lord. The doctor said I would never be able to use that arm again. And G-d laughed. HA! coffee, I take a small teaspoon of oxysilver to put oxygen in my cells which fight off viruses, and bacteria.

  • Socialized healthcare is not the way to go. I have no health ins. and I don't care. I am healthy, I eat all the same stuff you are talking about. I take p. powder with so many trace minerals and all the d, b, + it has vit D-3 which i never heard of, eat oatmeal with raisins, cacao beans in my coffee, I take a small teaspoon of oxysilver to put oxygen in my cells which fight off viruses, and bacteria.

  • And Zee06, please look over your list of countries and find the commonality and how well they have done in the past economically.

Also, look at representation and how much power the govt has over its people.

Tell me what those countries have produced. Are they super powers?

UK and Germany have doctors fleeing to the US. What does that tell you.

Try to get a doctor visit in Sweden. It will take about 4 months if its anything other than a cut or having a cold.

Your being lied to by govt.

  • We basically have socialized medicine via medicare and medicaid. Look how great those are doing :)

I work in a hospital and you get basic care for free.

Yes this bill they want to pass is about control. About 150 of our docs (out of 200) said they will quit if this passes. They were told of fines and 25% paycut and they said to hell with that.

This is a way to "spread the wealth" and force people who work for a living to pay peoples way who dont.

Obama and dems see that as fair lol.

  • I don't get it, so you think you're going to live forever? When you do die lets hope there not a hospital involved. Rock on ...dude.

  • I got paralysed a few years ago while trying to save some people, they thought i was paralysed from the neck down for the rest of my life ,anyway I live in the uk didnt have to worry about a insurance company dumping me or weaseling out of a contract which if their trying to make a profit their apt to do .

anyone can get injured I got hurt doing a heroic deed for complete strangers but that wouldnt have looked after me if I didint have insurance and lived in the states

  • My question is: If national health care is so bad, then why does: Canada, The U.K, Cuba, France, Russia, Germany, Australia, Japan, Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Sweden, Brazil, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and pretty much every other country in the modern world have a national health care system in some way. If private insurance is so much better, why have these countries decided to have health care for everyone through a national system?

  • because it's not about healthcare, the gov't can give a F*** about we the people, Its about CONTROL! people from those countries come here to the USA to recieve HC, doctors come here to the USA to practice because they dont get paid enough. its not free, as your taxes skyrocket, and the care you will recieve under obamacare will not be good. national HC is about control of the people, because when they pass it, and they probly will because america is misguided by BO, one world gov't soon!

  • If you have done research you would know that France, for example, pays 2 percent more in taxes and everyone has "Free" health care, child care and university. Also in Canada, the hospitals and doctors are private business, just like down here. But the doctors and hospitals charge the government instead of private insurance companies. What it comes down to is: Health care should be non profit...It should never been a for profit industry, especially when dealing with people's health and lives.

  • Whether it be private or gov't run. It needs to be non profit. We are people and people should never be a "Liability" when it comes to health care. Also it's only those with money that can afford to come to America for treatment, though they pay a lot more. I have a friend who pays 300 dollars a year for meds in Canada and 225 bucks A MONTH in the USA. But he can afford it. What about those who can't afford to pay out of pocket...Should they be left to die?

  • Rock On!

  • you idiot. dumb ass. I don't what to pay your medical

    bills.

  • but if you get hit by a car or get sick? most people dont need hospitalization, but its good to know that if you need a fireman or a cop that these public services come...

or should we privatize these socialist programs as well?

  • zrac09, I think we should nationalize the farms and feed everyone as well. Hey, why not build houses for everyone and put a roof over everyone's head? Wouldn't that be the public option for housing. why not move to Chicago where the town was organized by the organizer and chief and move into "public" housing there? Fire and police are community services and most fire dept. are volunteer and the police is an extention of the executive branch of gov. and thus constitutional.

  • I don't either.. but mandatory health inurance is un constitutional.. is anyone talking about the unconstitutional..

  • Congratulations! You are an excellent candidate for a health savings account. Get one while you can. Those of us who are healthy still need financial security in case we are hit by a car. Keep taking care of yourself and be well. I don't want to pay for your care in the future.

  • Let's hope you never get sick and have to spend time in the hospital and have EXPESIVE surgeries...When you get the 150K Hospital Bill...guess who pays it in the end WE DO. Thanks alot Buddy!

  • The first thing you know nothing about the Russian health insurance. I would never take advice from a man like you. I heard that in the healthcare plan they offer help for the crazy and the mentally ill. Please don't do anymore video

  • If some jerk slams into the back of you on the highway, and, god forbid, you are seriously injured, you will be taken care of but you may lose what little property you have in paying off your doctor bills. You are right in one sense, the more you own, the more you need insurance to protect your "stuff". But if you don't have much or don't care about losing it, you don't need health insurance.

  • My friends husband had no health insurance and always took care of himself.Being at the gym was his second home and junk food was the enemy for him.But he was hit with the swine flu,and thank god it didn't kill him.But his 15 day stay at the hospital left him with a $85,458 bill. That doesn't include some tests and doctors.

  • so, he has to pay and that's that.

he probably wasn't that healthy if he got swine flu either

  • very true, I haven't had health insurance for 2 years but then again I live like a monk, I only eat heathy organic food, I'm 23 and I work out! But I believe its more than just working out!

  • I'd rather not help add to the immense wealth of an Insurance company CEO who doesn't give a fuck whether i live or die, so thats why i don't buy my own health insurance. If i ever get a job where it is provided to me by the employer, I'd be happy to take it as a perquisite...otherwise no.

  • Isn't freedom of choice wonderful!

Now I don't know about going to Miami, left from that area several years ago. But , it's YOUR choice. Have fun!

  • Let's hope you don't slip and fall and break something. 25K for a broken leg. Hope you got money.

  • I think everyone should have your attitude. I have health insurance but haven't been to the hospital in 2 years. I would be just as happy with no health insurance. I rather have no health insurance than have the government force it down my throat. I also don't do jury duty and will never do it, I don't like the government telling me "you shall report for jury duty". My only civic duty is to pay taxes, I won't do more than that. Little scared people do everything the government tells them to do.

  • While I agree in general with the sentiment, I think you should do jury duty. We NEED people like you to do jury duty more than ever, instead of welfare recipients and such. How do you think we end up with judgements to give some moron $100 million because they burned themselves with hot coffee, or slipped on a sidewalk in the rain.

  • Manoftruth I would like to wish you good luck on your health

  • If u wanna save money, start with genetic engineering. As long as people have average intelligence and more or less random health situations noone will win.

  • Im sorry but Health Insurance is a nessecity, its just like car insurance because even if you say well I take care of my car i wash it, i tune it up, i do all thats needed whether u relize it or not ull find urself in a car crash with no way to pay, just like if u got a really serious illness and u dont know how to treat it, so I'm sorry but health insurance should be legal, oh, and btw i dont know what ur talking about but the countrys on the top of national health are the ones WITH nhc.

  • for a man of your age, it is probably not a good idea to not have health insurance. And i dont think it is so bright to get your health policy information from Glen Beck.:)

  • The guy should probably be called Manofhealth! He's obviously taking care of himself very well. Meanwhile, most of America is on the Standard American Diet that we know is not healthy. If you are on that diet, then sure, you better buy some insurance, at least for cancer and such. Another thing is that over 70% of all costs are for the elderly. I do NOT want to just put our elderly out to pasture, but no one deserves infinite resources in a vain attempt to keep them alive forever.

  • Thank you so much! they need to just let this old system die instead of trying to keep it alive! screw the big corporations!

  • What will you do if all of a sudden you come down with heart problems or cancer etc....Can happen to anyone at anytime...you won't have health insurance. In fact, you look a little rough, and not very healthy. I don't think all your're eating is doing you any good.

  • Maybe I need some time in Miami

  • @manoftruth Then you'd probably get skin cancer. Actually, it looks like you already spend a lot of time outdoors. You probably have a high chance of getting skin cancer anyway. Good luck with that if you still don't have healthcare by then.

  • @northmiamigirl27 nutrition is real medicine because it's prevention. Heart attacks, Cancer, etc. is part of our world, thanks to this wonderfully lush chemical environment we live in and simply being human. We can't all be immortal, in fact, none of us are. Emergency rooms are still obligated to treat people, insurance or no insurance, rich or broke. I'd worry more about dying than how to pay for it. what if what if what if what if what if what if what if what if?? silly questions.

  • @jakeawaythe16th There are plenty of what ifs that are very relevant, especially as people age. People lose their houses and other livelihoods and have to declare bankruptcy all the time because they don't have health insurance. It's serious stuff and pretty much the opposite of silly.

  • You must have a lot of diarreah, with your diet!

  • unless you dont have serious cash, a house, a 401k, and assets to protect, insurance is a good idea. heres wishing you a broken bone with full health recovery. After you've recovered, and cry in your beer about your bill you might change you're attitude.

  • All I can say is I hope your good health continues. Some people are not that fortunate and live with chronic illnesses where they must seek ongoing medical care. I, for one, can't imagine paying full price out of pocket for that care. I rely on medical insurance to pay the large portion of those expenses. So I guess I would be one of the people stressing if I lost coverage and rightly so.

  • manoftruth = AWESOME!

You rock dude! Keep spreading the "truth!'

  • EVERYONE needs some kind of health insurance.

Life is unpredictable..being by being in an accident or coming down with a sickness. If this happens medical bills or care got to be paid, either by a paid into health plan or by the taxpayers.

  • When the congress, the House, and the President agree to the same exact medical care they are trying to push off on us, then maybe someone would listen. Of course they would never accept what they are trying to force down the general pop's throats!

  • You sound way to happy about collapse man. I can understand being happy at the way things have been the past 40 years but you have to keep in context that in that collapse is real peoples lives collapsing too.

  • I'm a very fit and healthy 43 year old. Can't remember last time I was sick but have broke my leg, my arm, my nose, my orbit (bone around the eye), dislocated my shoulder and hip and suffered serious head and spinal injuries. These have been as a result of various auto and motorcycle wrecks and sports and mountainbike accidents. All treatment was free of charge and I don't carry insurance. It helps that I live in the UK where we get universal free healthcare.

  • And if you get in car accident your screwed. Nothing happens to anyone, until it happens. Only reason you would not car about health insurance is if you have no money. Medical bills can pile up very quickly.

  • Hey MOT. A very strange way to find out about water and my body. Because I'm now taking care of my 88 yr old dad in his apartment i have to sleep on the couch nights. I don't want to wake him when going through his room to the bathroom so i had to piss in a bottle for a couple of nights. When in the morning I could gauge how much water I lost during the night alone I was shocked. First thing I do now when I wake up is drink 10 ounces of water IMMEDIATELY.Ha ha

  • Wow...what an arrogant prick...did he ever take into account people that get into car accidents or people that get cancer?

How about people whose children have medical issues? Yes, some people do need health insurance that can't afford, good job making yourself look like a total asshole Manoftruth.....jackass.

  • He is talking about the NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE plan that is being put forth now. And he is talking about his PERSONAL CHOICE not to have a health insurance plan. Methinks you have no idea what Obama has in the works sorry to say

  • @Uzibit What about people who can't afford housing? Should we provide that too?

  • I am 28 years old and I spent nearly all my life without health insurance.

I've been blessed so far when it comes to my health.

  • If you have no assets, there is no problem going with no health insurance. I have known people go through medical BKs, it's not pretty. The hospitals will go after any and all assets you have to get paid.

One of my best friend's wife is dying of cancer, total bills so far $800,000+. His insurance has a million dollar cap per insured. After the cap, it's medical BK. They have gone to lawyers to see what they can do. One option is to get divorced, prior to her death. Nice huh?

  • MOT,

Pay as I go med care keeps the records private from the insurance companies. Some doctors will discount the service if you pay cash. In the long run, it's cheaper to save for a rainy day than to pay the weekly premiums.

The average in-debt American is so burdened and trapped they can't escape the insurance machine. MOT your free of the "Insurance industrial complex".

  • What the heck, Yule Brinner ate healthy too. But in the end, his unhealthy years caught up with him. Health insurance, burial insurance should be provided by "Social Security". Rock on

  • OK. So you are ok without healthcare because you eat well and workout. Here is a secret for you:You will get sick, you will get seriously sick. You appear to be about 50yo and are entering a time in your life where not having health inusrance is a disaster.

Even if you are ok with it, why should everyone? I am a low tax republican but not on this issue. If we can run an empire and give billionaires a trillion dollars with basically no debate, we can give Americans health care.

  • Good video, keep 'em coming.

  • force? what a crackup- they are free to reject anybody- like me because I have a genetic blood disorder. The only meddling is with Medicare, which forces premiums lower. good grief!

  • sandy-- Hope you'll hang around here at MOT.

  • Walter Cronkite described what a "liberal" is in the news business--"One who is not committed to any particular dogma".

  • Thanks for the reply CC. I always peek in here whenever i have a free moment. Sounds like you have been around the block and then some... i hear ya

  • I've taken the North Face of Life; it has more craggy cliffs, but the view is spectacular. I have an education a person couldn't get at a prominent university, although I did attend a tier one U. Met some brilliant and successful people so far.

Everyone has to go around the block sometime, to discover what's outside of their own back yard. ;)

  • Most of "my"education, although similarly educated, has come from watching the systems of governance and their affiliates, work their wonders (sarcastically speaking)on low-mid class urban youth and their families,(teaching &counseling these past 25 years)I have seen 1st hand, the progressive dumbing down of youth, &the "indoctrination" of a new generation of teachers, that may never speak up against the travesties committed in present educational policies.4 NYC I could debunk much of the myth.

  • I believe the same can be said for Superman.

What ever happened all the " nosy reporters", we need some of them back just about now....

  • I worked 70-80 hrs/wk for the first 25 years after college. Stopped watching TV back in 1995--bought a motorcycle and started riding at the end of the day-- between 10pm-1am. I turned my attention towards a different pursuit of truth.

After 9-11 I started reading again and discussing philosophy, psychology, poetry, art, etc. at a local tea shop where some very well-educated liberal-minded people frequented. I've learned a lot since then; a lot about the pursuit of truth. Few want the truth.

  • And what ever happened to the the "single taxpayer payer health plan" that Nader talked about during. This whole healthcare plan being pushed is an attempt to purposefully implement something that will fail so that they can say, "hey we tried that, but it didn't work...i told you so" . I am so sick of the whole thing because what is being proposed is such a farce. And with corporate media control, the immediate prognosis is bleak, by the way, Mr. Cronkite... you will be sorely missed.

  • Mr. Cronkite was not a college graduate-- wasn't indoctrinated properly into the corporate mindset.

  • just don't tell me that there aren't plenty of capable financial, medical and political gurus in OUR COUNTRY, that can't come together and figure something decent out!!!Especially since we have some real working examples to analyze and tweak. .

  • Everyone should watch "FRONTLINE: Sick Around the World | PBS" SEE IT FREE ON LINE. It was aired last year and it analyzes 5 capitalist democratic countries and how they run their healthcare. It presents the question- why can't we learn a little from each of these WORKING systems, and come up with one for the US?

Ahh, if it were only THAT easy! It's no secret , of course, that NO ONE WANTS TO STAND UP TO THE HEALTH FOR PROFIT systems that are in place presently....

  • For me, it comes down to a philosophical consideration: are bison livestock or wildlife?

  • Can you expound on the last sentence. Thanks. MOT

  • The world is NOT going to end in 2012...I promise you this...so it's a mute point.

  • Right on MOT I would like to hear more about these foods you speak of. I've never seen them on the menu at Taco Bell. I have heard of the water thing , I hear it is best when combined with Sodium Flouride !

  • But what if you rip a pec or bicep, or tear your shoulder while pumping iron, or even worse, get in a car accident, or have another bad accident? You could be looking at a 50-100K hospital bill.

    What then?

  • There is always the option to ask for donations.

  • a.

To see how a government system works, let's look at our water bills--

We have a water company-- somewhat like socialized service. The top employee is guaranteed 110k per year under county standards--non-competitive.

    Service cost :

    $74.54 - for 0 water used

    $102.34- for 20 cu yards

    $135.54- for 40 cu yards

    $201.84- for 60 cu yards

    We conserve. Av. bill =$110

We could totally go wild(3X) and not conserve; pay double the cost for 3X as much water= additional $100/mo.

  • b.

    Post your bill.

The incentive is to use more service, not to conserve. Bureaucrats are guaranteed salaries and there is no pressured in the least to use less service. The system encourages waste. Like government run healthcare insurance?

  • Carefulcarpenter - Your calculations are flawed and your message / analogy is wrong. Dead wrong.

The fixed cost to bring water to your property must be excluded for the calcs.

As per numbers provided, you pay more as you consumption increases and so it should be. cont.....

  • 20 cost 27.80 / 20 = 1.39 per cu yard

    40 cost 61.00 / 40 = 1.53 per cu yard

    60 cost 127.30 / 60 = 2.12 per cu yard

I am happy to hear that you conserve, but there is no incentive to consume more, not does the the system encourage waste. Just setting the record straight.

  • "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"

Well "We Did" for our country... now look at us... Doesn't look like they kept thier half of the deal...

ALL of our problems today were and are caused by total failure of Government then & now. That is also what war is all about, failure of Government and now the people want to hand them over the whole ball of wax when they don't even know how to manage the candle... Its Bovine Scatocity...

  • Jesus purportedly said "give your shirt also", which means to me that we should all take care of each other, even the least of us. Now words get in the way. What Jesus meant, I think, is that we should help each other out in any way we can. Have courage and persevere MOT.

  • Problem is we don't live in a man of truth world. Some of us very much need modern medicine through no fault of their own. I find it very ironic that ManofTruth weighed in on the issue of national health care and centered it around himself. No word about anyone else. Hypocrite. Something tells me Jesus would want us to help each other not allow the money lenders to continue to price living happily out of the reach of millions.

  • 1.

    MournelitheCalix

I dont think he centered it around himself, I think he is trying to make a point from a different point of view. Point being: Most people worry about health coverage and many people who do have it never use it. I for one have had it threw work for 19 years and used it once. This is the point, if you are healthy and take care of yourself why do you need health coverage. cont...

  • 2. Now the elderly need it and someday we will be old and most likely need it but for now if your young and healthy don't worry so much about it. That is MOTs point and in that point he is making the suggestion to eat healthy and exorcize and this will help keep you out of the Doctors office. Everyone has thier own views on this subject and MOT's is just one of many and I don't see how it may be hypocritical in any way.

  • It would appear that we have a racist President and first mate.

  • Your damn right Col, and if I were Crowley I would drop dead before I apologize to ANYONE! You have a black liberal professor and white cop theres no doubt the black guys going to play the race card they always do it just happens to be this black guy is good friends with the Pres. Gates is dead wrong for not not showing his ID to Crowley and not only that he insulted the Sgts mom, dad and then called him racist. All this guy had to do is show ID and it would have all been over peacefully.

  • I cannot afford it right now. Why be depressed that i don't have it. Make the best of what you have.

    Thanks, K9

  • Jesus would NEVER steal from somebody else. I am SURE he would NEVER be for a national FORCED health care plan.

  • It isn't theft. Its called being there for one another and helping each other out. Nationalized health is no more stealing then nationalized police or fire departments. Its the decent thing to do for your fellows in case sometime YOU need healthcare or worse your children. The world doesn't always revolve around you and ManofTruth. God threw out the moneylenders from the temple because their god is greed. There is no good social arguement to be made to deny people who need it care.

  • "national FORCED health care plan"

What is forced here? The overwhelming majority of the people want this to be apart of their society, and just like laws it represents their values and beliefs. The general belief here is that every human being should be treated for serious illnesses despite something as ridiculous and shallow as financial situation.

It is a charity of the people to all who need it.

Is that not something Jesus would value?

    Really?

  • A.

    Starry

They are treated for any illness NOW, just go into any emergency room and you will be treated insured or not insured so what is your point. What is forced!? even though I didn't write that, what is forced is being told what Doctor you have to see, when you have to see him or her and forcing another group of people and small businesses to pay for it by way of higher taxes and fines if non-compliant. cont...

  • B. Now I don't know about you but that is forced. Also I don't know where your getting your info from because the majority of the people DO NOT want socialized health care in this country. Give me/us the source of your information because I would like to read where this is coming from.

  • Reply didn't make it through- repost:

I had a relative, who had insurance, in the hospital long-term. Another relative who took care of them was put through hell, involving having their belongings stolen and told to let the patient die and see God (no joke) because they were losing money.

The patient was mistreated, and eventually died. We strongly suspect that the death was due to negligence of the staff. Another relative can't afford the medication he desperately needs.

  • Starry

Bingo!! you said it, imagine if the medicine was socialized when that happened. They would have let the person die, in fact you wouldn't even have been allowed the extended care in the first place with all the limitations this bill has in it. Yes private health care has its flaws but the only people I see complaining about it are the uninsured and in many cases people who refuse to want to work and pay thier own bills.

  • "only people I see complaining about it are..."

It took you 7 hours to come up with this? I also note the obligatory "it has flaws" comment commonly used by opposition in order to give themselves credibility.

Do you honestly believe that the only people who complain are the ones who are uninsured and the people who refuse to work or pay bills? Do you? Are you that naive?

  • 1.

Opposition to what!? the liberal socialist agenda? Slowly but surly your colors are starting to surface. I didnt say all the people who dont work I said the only ones "I" see. The "naive" are people who don't believe the people who abuse the system today are not going to be the same ones that abuse the system tomorrow whether it be socialized or not.

  • 2.

From 1 threw 5 which I wrote last night I noticed you have danced around 70% of it and have selectively chosen what you feel fit, thats fine but everything you are now asking was answered in last nights comments. 1 threw 5 are the reasons why socialized Gov run health care should not be in America and the reasons were given. We can go back and forth all year long and its not going to change a thing. cont...

  • 3.

I KNOW there are people who make a living not working and draw all kinds of Gov subsidies, Gov run health care is just another window the Gov is handing to these same people so they can get free health care at the expense of the American working class tax payer ( People who work)... I was born and raised in the Bronx, I know the deal and I know the scams pulled on social services.

  • 4.

Plain and simple the tax payer will be paying for the other half of the population who don't want to work which has been going on since the 50's. As for the workers appeasement they will be fining employers that do not get health coverage for their employees, this is wrong and we will have more layoffs and companies going out of business. cont....

  • 5.

Small business is already taxed to death and this plan certainly will strain that even further. We can expect people who don't work to understand that concept. As for the Gov fining these businesses into getting health care, this is nothing short of a watered down version of a dictatorship. I am suspicions as to what the real reason why they want this past so bad and so fast. It is being railroaded threw which is very suspicious.

  • typo:

We "cant" expect people who don't work to understand that concept...

  • "I noticed you have danced around 70% of it and have selectively chosen what you feel fit"

After 10+ years of intense internet discussions I have learned how to spot someone who knows that they are losing a debate on merit and resort to disingenuous tactics. The discussion morphs and their goal becomes one of exhausting the other person with redundancies and circular logic so that they leave. What is left to further readers is the *illusion* that their point had more merit.

  • "Opposition to what!?"

Um, opposition to what we were talking about, Public Option and/or reform in general. And yes you did say that the lazy/etc were the only ones who wanted this, you just did it in a roundabout manner where your perception and opinion are presented as fact but could later deny when called on it.

And now you have moved on to the next twist, claiming that abuse of the program was something that I denied when I am not even sure the topic was brought up for me to deny.

  • If you have any knowledge of economics you'd know that the national health care bill is a farse. The best way to get cost down is to is to get government out of healthcare. Jesus doesn't want a corrupt government taking over an already corrupt health care system. Whenever the government takes over costs goes up and quality goes down.

  • If other countries can get healthcare for their citizens like Canada and Great Briton there is absolutely no reason why we can't either. As far as the hands off role of government, haven't we already learned that doesn't work? We have enron who asked for deregulation and we paid for it with $4.00 per gallon gas. They also savaged California with sky high energy prices. Then we get AIG and Credit default swaps that socialize the loses. No thanks, government is needed. That is the truth.

I live in Washington State and if I look out my back window to the North I can see Victoria British Columbia right across the Puget Sound so heres some facts from the border town. #1. I receive their broadcast radio stations one being 100.3 the Q and Thursday their news said the Ministry crunched the numbers on their socialized heath care costs and said the cost numbers are disastrous & scary (Exact words) and it will be going broke in the next 5 years. cont...

  • B.

#2. I'm also a Ham radio operator and I talk to Canada all the time for the last 13 years both east and west coasts, well last week I talked to a friend of mine in Richmond BC and I asked: "How long does it take you to get to see a Doctor over there if needed" he replied: "It depends on what is wrong, if you have a broken finger it may take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks maybe longer and if you need your Tonsils out it can take up to 2 months" cont...

  • C. but then he said, "If you need something major like a Heart transplant or Kidneys etc it can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years" (end quote.) Yea that's what I want!!! I think you need to educate yourself a bit better on the disasters of socialized medicine. The fact is we have the best health care RIGHT NOW even though it has its flaws its still the best and is the EXACT reason cont...

  • D. why people from Britain, Canada, Africa, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, UK, Denmark, France, the USSR and our favorite "Mexico all come here to get medically treated. We also have the best Doctors and Surgeons in the world along with medication R&D and it wont stay that way under a socialized program. Your believing the Lib news media to much! they call that drinking the Cool-Aid which refers to the people at Jones Town who died after doing so...

  • 1 You have of course verifiable examples of this? I ask because again we always hear about how they are coming here and its always a friend of a friend. Lets see the circumstances of why they came IF they did. Lets examin it so we can have a public option that allows the ordinary citizen to enjoy the benefits of health care without having to go to another country. By the way, I know of one verifiable example of where a tourist to florida waited to get his broken arm fixed until he got into

  • 2 Canada where he was seen the very day he needed to. So forgive me for being very dubious of friends of a friend or acquaintance I talked to. I want to see evidence. To be clear I want to see evidence so that we can avoid nationalized health care disasters instead of making human suffering a for profit temple to greed and greatly enriching stockholders. By the way the documented and verifiable evidence of a person who waited until he got back into canada was in the movie sicko.

  • Again I reiterate no one I have talked to has that complaint. If we do nationalize healthcare then we of course need to also provide the infrastructure that makes certain this doesn't happen. There is still time to address this issue. Of course the converse of your arguement is right now moms, fathers, sisters and brothers citizens of the united states can't get treated and they are dieing here every day. Waiting a bit it seems to me is preferable than never being treated.

  • MournelitheCalix\

Trust me I speak to more Canadians in one week then you do in 10 years, I am on the border!!! No offence but your reasoning is so far from logic that I rather not waste time debating you. For one I don't like being called a liar so lets just end it right here. Keep your trust in the government that is you right, right up to the death march into the gas chamber... You defy logic my friend, and your trust in Government after all that has been going on proves just that.

  • Sadly I always get this I heard from a friend of a friend. Every person I know who now lives in Canada has a very different story to tell. I said it on another blog and I am going to say it again. Everyone I have talked to would :

    1. not trade their healthcare for ours.

    2. Are happy with the canada health system.

NHS seems to be premium care in Great Briton. Maybe instead of emulating Canada we should emulate Great Briton.

  • k9, thanks for this relevant info and insight. MOT

  • Thanks MOT...

  • SendingK9 - Your friend in Richmond must live far out of town and has no transportation, hence it takes him a long time to see a doctor. I am from Canada too and if I should break my finger today I will have it in a cast within a few hours. Never have I ever heard such a ridiculous comment that it takes a couple of weeks to see a doctor for a broken finger, that is absurd. And then such 'info' gets spread around the net and taken at face value.

  • 1.

    gschut1.

Fact or not this is what he has said. Putting the finger aside, which if you do have a broken finger and dont get it looked at it will not kill you or be life threatening in any way. The fact is if you need heart surgery or other major surgery it is a long waiting list which can take up to 6 months or longer. This is a fact and goes undisputed. Waiting for heart surgery, kidney etc etc is what can kill you if it goes untreated in fact 2 months never mind 6 can mean life or death.

  • 2.

. I dont care what anyone says Government run medicine is not better then the private health care we already have in place. Certainly it needs work and the costs are high and need to be lowered but socializing health care is not the answer to that. The 100.3 Q in Canada said on Thursday's news once all the baby boomers retire in Canada in the next decade or so there will be two retired persons to every new young person working so there will be no tax infrastructure to support cont...

  • 3.

Gov run health care and it will go broke. Chek 6 went bankrupt and is going off the air and out of business for good so, as much as people want to think Canada is out of the economic troubled woods they need to think again. I listen to their news casts everyday and it is about as bleak as the US. Socialized medicine has traditionally failed over the years and that is why people from other countries flock here to get our private medical care.

  • 4.

WE THE PEOPLE of the US do not want socialized medicine, this is the idea of one man OBAMA who believes in socialism which has no place in a Republic. This is the USA and if they keep it up in Washington there WILL be another revolution this time with our own Gov and not the Brits. cont...

  • 5.

This government wants to socialize everything but they are forgetting there are no jobs and a loss of tax base of 30% and higher so far, HOW are they going to support the masses with health care?? the answer is they are not and is precisely why the Obama administration are going to place fines on small businesses if they dont have health coverage for their workers, that equals more LAYOFFS and is total violation of OUR Constitution.

  • "WE THE PEOPLE of the US do not want socialized medicine,"

Most people of the US do in fact want a public option, from 85-92% in fact. You also say:

"precisely why the Obama administration are going to place fines on small businesses "

Uh no. Theres plenty of things being funded that are no where near as important as this that should be knocked to the back of the line if it comes to that, but it wont. Like I said 1% on uberwealthy takes care of half the bill.

  • 1.

    Starry2000

President Obamas healthcare plan will reduce the quality and increase the cost of healthcare in America. But more importantly, it will severely undermine our already weak economy. To burden a country currently in the throes of a violent recession with such a bureaucratic albatross clearly illustrates the scarcity of economic intelligence in Washington.

  • 2.

In the first place, specifically taxing the rich to pay for healthcare for the uninsured is the wrong way to think about tax policy and is an unconstitutional redistribution of wealth. While the government has the constitutional power to tax to promote the general welfare, it does not have the right to tax one group for the sole and specific benefit of another. cont...

  • 3.

If the government wishes to finance national health insurance, the burden of paying for it should fall on every American. If that were the case, perhaps Congress would think twice before passing such a monstrosity.

  • 4.

In the second place, the healthcare bill is just bad economics. For an administration that supposedly wants to create jobs, this bill is one of the biggest job-killers yet devised. By increasing the marginal income tax rate on high earners (an extra 5.4% on incomes above $1 million), it reduces the incentives for small business owners to expand their companies.

  • 5.

The simplest explanation of why healthcare costs so much is that demand exceeds supply. Demand is a function of how much people are prepared to pay. Insuring more people will drive demand for healthcare services even higher. As costs continue to soar, expect additional tax hikes to fund the added expense.

  • "President Obamas healthcare plan will reduce the quality and increase the cost of healthcare in America"

How so? I have seen no actual evidence of this at all. More over, how about the people who can not get ANY kind of help at ANY quality?

"with such a bureaucratic albatross clearly illustrates the scarcity of economic intelligence in Washington."

"it will severely undermine our already weak economy"

    How so?

    "such a bureaucratic albatross"

The People don't see eye to eye with you.

  • "Canada is out of the economic troubled woods"

Everyone is in economic trouble for reasons that have NOTHING TO DO WITH HEALTHCARE but they still manage to do much better, for everyone, for significantly less than we do.

  • "once all the baby boomers retire in Canada"

This isn't Canada, the US can in fact support it. We lose -tens of billions- of dollars in medicare/caid fraud, just the fraud we easily sniff out each year but basically nothing is done about. Start recovering some of that. Also, half of Obamas plan is covered already by taxing people who make 350k a year 1 freaking percent. We can cut other things from the budget before having to raise taxes on the uber rich too. Easily. Its worth it.

  • SendingK9 - I have mad ONE comment about not having to wait to see a doctor for two to three weeks for a broken finger - that is not true in Canada. This is an undisputable fact. Since you are working at the border and are talking to Candians, why don't you ask and find out for yourself.

Why do you go off and write 5 paragraph's about a reply answer? I just wanted to tell you that what you wrote and what your friend said is plain wrong, that's all.

  • 1.

    gschut

This is what a Canadian told me so I take him for his word, I certainly hope I can take him for his word, I have known him for over 8 years now. Like I said aside from the finger whether it is true or not the rest is dead on accurate and I do have proof of that even though its not big secret. Once upon a time the USA were leaders but not anymore, this is a result of being followers simply by wanting to adapt to Europe's socialized system.

  • 2.

Today on the Q radio news on the way home more health care clinics are closing in Canada. Its a mess over there and why the US thinks they can take a bad socialized system and make it work better over here is beyond me. Private health care has been suiting this country fine for decades so fix it! don't get rid of it. The fact is no system will be with out problems or deficiencies.

  • 3.

By the way I don't like Glen Beck he acts like a child and in many cases a moron one being that Epileptic freak-out he did on his radio show was uncalled for and no reason for outside of the obvious grasp for ratings...

  • "Waiting for heart surgery, kidney etc etc is what can kill you if it goes untreated in fact 2 months never mind 6 can mean life or death."

Im going to assume by your other comments that you don't believe this to be true of the system currently in the US right now. I happen to know that it can take months just to get a diagnosis on serious illnesses, not to mention treatment RIGHT NOW. For some, they may NEVER be able to even wait in line AT ALL.

  • All you point A means is that the government is going to have to fix the costs. Its just that simple. If Canada is really going broke, they need to fix the costs to just like what Great Briton did.

  • MOT is getting a little tired of all the "What if you get sick MOT - Won't you need health care then??". MOT is in impeccable condition, eats raw food (vegetables and meat) daily and lifts weights with other gay men at the gym. He will NOT be needing any healthcare anytime soon so you guys should just bugger off.

  • I believe in individual free choice and not forced community programs....and especially not national forced systems!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I've never had health insurance.

  • Boy I tell ya even after all this BS on Wall St & the Gov the lies just keep on coming...

I just found out the ShamWow isn't really made in Germany...

    Vince lied...

  • Oh no!! Not Vince!

  • K9,

Search even more and you will find some funny stuff about Vince. March 27th he slap/chopped a prostitute in a South Beach hotel. He claimed the prostitute bit his tongue and wouldn't let go, so the slap/chop was delivered to her.

Then he comes out with the slap/chop food processor. He smiles everytime he says "slap it" on the commercial.

Goto thesmokinggun for some pictures of him and the prostitute.

  • Crabshack.

LMAO!! I just went there and scene the mug shots and the story lol... That has to be the funniest. I cant believe it, when I read things like that I say Wow every time lol...

Good Ol Vince my new hero...

  • "Just slap it once, then slap it again."

His mug shots don't quite look like the guy on the TV.

  • Most people will not Qualify for it.

  • You may not need health insurance, but there are millions of people out there that do.

What happens if you get cancer or some other kind of debilitating disease? What if you're in an accident and get badly injured? You'll need health insurance then.

I've lived in the UK for the past four years, and am so thankful that I have the NHS. I don't have to worry about copays and obnoxious prescription costs. The system isn't perfect, but it's there when I need it.

  • This is why I am an advocate for preventative medicine!!!!!!! I'm damn healthy, and the only thing that would suck is if I got in an accident, but other than that, chronic conditions are not an issue for me.
