  • Very cool tune.

  • so amazing!!! beautiful

  • A great video for an amazing song.........

  • this is \EXACTLY what i picture when i hear this song :)

  • good song very powerful i feel and good arial scenery in the back drop very good thanks for sharing i love this song

  • I absolutely love this song. It's one of those productions that imitators struggle to emulate. Imperious and unique.

  • Just perfect, Bobby Hatfield had the most beautiful and powerful voice.RIP Bobby and thanks for the memories this song evoked.

  • Hard to believe that the guy responsible for this production will spend the rest of hi life in prison.

  • @doctordoowop Screw him...the girl he murdered did not get to spend the rest of her life anywhere at all.

  • Probably Phil Spector's absolute peak...

  • The most romantic, frank and beautiful description of a man snoring away five minutes after sex.

  • The Righteous Brothers at the Dodge Theater. Will never forget Bobby when he sang this song......RIP

  • This is so beautiful another great Phil Spector production...

  • Naked Gun 2 1/2 has a great Freudian montage with this song. It's fitting since this song is a metaphor for something else.

    Great Song

  • i remember getting pissed one night at a pub about 3 /4 miles from my home. No buses after certain time at night so had to stagger all the way back. This was one of the songs on my walkman at the time, so listened to it umpteen times in the god-knows-how-many-hours it took me to get back. Puked up in a few gardens too. HAPPY MEMORIES !!!

  • @VanWhistler LOL! And a helluva headache the next day, no doubt!

  • @VanWhistler

    So romantic (LOL)!

  • Bloody terrific ,Powerful , now , im going for a surf , luv it .

  • I don't know of many singers who could have hit that last note but Mr Hatfield! wow

  • @ANNEAVES I agree, Bobby Hatfield could always raise it that extra bit couldn't he? His needless death was a tragic waste of a life. At least he's left some great albums to remember him by. I'll never tire of listening to him.

  • @jlocorriere05 A waste of a life it wasn't.At least not in the sense that Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Donny Hathaway, and others who died in their 20s and 30s were. He lived into his 60s, and left a legacy of songs that humanity will be listening to and enjoying until the end of time.

  • Most perfect song ever produced and sung... amazing.

  • Perfection again from the Righteous Brothers and Phil Spector.

  • This is the best all around romantic song.

  • Simply amazing!!!, one of my old man's favs... he's 65 & Im 30. Still I have been listening to this kind of music ever since I was like 4 years old, and enjoyed it since then. Thanx for the vid.

  • The best arranged song in music history. Not one flaw.

  • And to think that Bobby Hatfield almost became a pro-baseball player. I think the music world needed him more.

  • simplesmente emocionante...

  • Dios, que hermoza melodia, que profunda composición. Cada vez que esucho esta canción simplemente lloro de la emoción.

God!!! what a beautiful melody, what a deep composition!! everytime I listen this song simpley I cry of emotion!! Love it!!

  • my favorite RB song. it's so.....epic.

  • Quanta nostalgia per la giovinezza lontana !!

  • Poetic - just poetic. Nothing in today's music can match this poetry of melody and lyrics.

  • Holy Crap! What a beautiful voice! Best ever.

  • Another best by Bobby Hatfield RIP

  • Bobby, you were the best. No one, and I mean no one, could sing a song and elevate it to a masterpiece like you. Not even Elvis, no disrespect. You are sorely missed and may your soul rest in eternal peace.

  • @dac10012 You are so spot on. Unfortunately at the time the music producers were showcasing Bill. What a shame he decided to off himself.

  • every night before every game before every date Bill and Bobby got me way up thanks for the post!

  • I Love all of The Righteous Brothers songs, thanks for the memories !!!

  • If this song does not raise goosebumps, I would suggest major surgery to your central nervous system! R.I.P. Bobby Hatfield!

  • This song still gives me chills.

  • what a great song sung by a great voice. saw them back in '64 here in tulsa. of all the stuff they did, this is the one that stands out to me.

  • Goodness...this was unexpected....pressed the play button...music started to swell....images of the ocean filled the screen....and I found my eyes spontaneously brimming with tears....too much beauty all at once I guess....I'm a guy though so for the record I kept the tears in - :)

  • My friend Glyn found this song for me, I will be forever grateful to him.

    Muriel xxxx

  • One of greatest blue-eyed soul singers ever....Mr. Bobby Hatfield.

  • A voice that has to be the greatest of time! God wanted it to His own glory. How he cuts his phrases his feel, never heard anything like it. Really too bad that he doesn't get his due here, but he is in eternity.

  • Bobby Hatfield R.I.P. As the song will testify, you sir were just too GOOD!

  • Fabulous song by the Righteous Brothers. Has anyone heard a song by them called, See That Girl?" It's such a good song and it was on one of their albums. One of my favorites by them but I can't find it...!??!

  • @SherryAnn68 "See that girl" is really a very beautiful song, sung by Bill Medley. It is in the album

"The very best of The Righteous Brothers (Unchained melody). I bought it on Amazon. On YouTube I can´t find this song.

  • @SherryAnn68

It's on The Righteous Brothers Greatest Hits Album

  • bobby sang this so well...timeless...terrific production

  • Beautiful on the grandest scale. Perfection beyond words that I can find to do it justice. So perfect! Thank you for this wonderful post.

  • @70smusicman Yes I agree the song is so haunting. Just love it.

  • I am definitely AMAZED why I never posted a comment to OUR song....Bobby's and mine...yes, Bobby Hatfield...we were as close as a man and woman can get for three years. I will love him for all eternity and until time stand still. I met him on 5/21/86 in his club The Hop in Fountain Valley, CA. He kissed me for the first time on 7/6/86. And after I got home from that concert I wrote an award-winning poem entitled MY BEAUTIFUL BOBBY. I have written 15 poems about him so far He's my WELA & LL.

  • Beautiful, it's all. Thanks for the partage.

  • MAGNIFICO VIDEO.......

  • Bobby Hatfield, may you RIP eternally. Thank you for bestowing this immortal perfect gem on us.

  • Rest In Peace Bobby.....

  • from the movie: "sweet bird of youth" with Paul Newman

  • Definitive.

  • one of the most sensual songs every written ... and performed with brilliance ...

  • wow

  • It is one of the great Voices I´ve ever heard it is Bobby Hatfield . He had a nearly Voice to Roy Orbison , he had more soul in his Voice .

  • This is a good version of the song............a true original. Has anyone heard the version by the barbershop quartet McPhly?

  • Comment removed

  • This video is as beautiful as the song, thanks for posting. Just an FYI, Bobby Hatfield was also a talented athlete who was selected by the LA Dodgers to play shortstop and he had to make a decision between singing and playing proffesional baseball. I don't live in LA so I'm glad he chose to sing in The Righteous Brothers.

  • Reminds me of my first true love my Sr year in 1964. WOW what a year it was

  • The scenery in this is breathtaking. I've never been to the Pacific but this is what I imagine it's like. I also love that video was used instead of still shots. The righteous brothers singing ebb tide to this video has an amazing effect on me that I'll savor all year long.

  • Monumentally beautiful song performed by a generational singer and yet another classic from the brilliant Phil Spector.

  • The Righteous Brothers. Perfect name. One of my favorite songs ever.

  • beautiful song and music , a fantastic voice

  • This is so beautiful.!....can say no more...chills and tears

  • the shared experience can never be lost--thank you. XOXO "Like the tide at its ebb, I'm at peace in the web...of your arms".

  • "So I rush, to your side like the uncoming tide/With one burning thought: will your arms open wide?"

  • @70smusicman

Can't say one word to embellish, just what I am thinking.

    G.d bless 'em all....

  • To JaxRun, another great Phil Specter creation was on the Beatles' "The Long and Winding Road". When you hear it, it is unmistakable.

  • Go to lover's lane on this song...It's GREAT

  • What a soul stirring ballad. Fantastic voices - absolute perfection in every word and every note. This song is purely awe inspiring. What a lovely song to slow dance to with someone very, very special. Thank you for the post.

  • A harpist wrote this piece. Many people have tried to own it, but it belongs to

    Robert Maxwell. Harpists can ROCK

  • An unmistakable Phil Spector production with his "wall of sound" matched beautifully wth the late great Bobby Hatfield. If you don't get "goosebumps" from this version, check your pulse, you might be dead.

  • @tennisplayers2 The "wall of sound" was one of the best things ever used in music.

  • @tennisplayers2 Indeed.

  • this song just sums up the two greatest 60s singers of all time. rip bobby. your music will be playing in 100 years from today,4-24-10.

  • What a powerfull song well done Mr Bobby Hatfield This song was and still is my favorite of the righteous brothers he sang this song with feeling and you can hear the energy from this great singer even though he is gone he left his mark on this earth he will never die. thank you for posting this beautifull melody graciasong

  • Just beautiful!!

  • This was released in the mid 60's--The Righteous Brothers were first known as The Paramoors until Phil Spector-"Wall of Sound" discovered them....brings back a LOT of memories to this 63 year old 'Boomer...This was a dancing song-what they have now is "noise" !

  • What year was this released? Anybody know? First time I've heard it! Great video!

  • This version was released as a single in 1965

  • Well then... Phil Spector as the record's producer, no wonder it's genius!...& hits me right in the solar-plexus with it's beauty...what a gift...thanks Phil!... & Bobby Rydell just aces it! That ending knocks me to t' moon & back!!!!

  • ohhh jeez, that's Bobby Hatfield, not Rydell, forgive the brainless one....jilly

  • What a paradox this song is. Full of such love and promise, yet in the movie, Sweet Bird of Youth, it is all destroyed.

    Beautiful and heart-rending.

  • I love this song so much.

This song is love. Everything. This is probably one of the greatest performances in history. Bobby is the definitive version.

  • check out the Persuasions version the background harmonies bring tears to your eyes

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • TIMELESS FOREVER

  • Yes. Like the tide.

  • GREAT video to this awesome song!!!

  • Beautiful song

  • In addition to a great interpretatoion by the Righteous Brothers , beautiful scenery which I assume is in Okinawa ?

  • Best recording, I have come across in a long time....

    Thanks

    localbyzs

  • This is one of my three favourite tracks of all time - brilliant recording, blilliantly performed

  • Of all RB performances, this is my favorite. Phil Spector was so talented before he went nuts and homicidal...This song is all about sex, but so romantic and so about love. It proves you can express all those things without the stupid and sophomoric crudities of most "edgy," "alt" music of today.

  • for my baby kathy~

  • I love this song! Really sets a mood and takes me away. My favorite somg of theirs.

  • Just so incredibly performed once again by Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Bros.

Almost as good as his version of "Unchained Melody". What a Voice!

    Robby *****Stars.

  • very nice friend thank Robby for shareing godbless you both hav a great day

  • I like the song, but, where is that paradise located? Great Barrier Reef in Australia or somewhere else? Pls let me know, Thanks !!

  • The song was written by Robert Maxwell, brother of Myor Rosen (who played harp for New York Phil for 30 years - who recently died. See Clearwater Sun Dog Org for obit. Four brothers who all played harp professionally.) Robert Maxwell (his stage name) also wrote Shanghai.

  • jazzzz1066..THANK YOU for the update!!! Sad to SEE that Myor ROSEN has passed....Please RSP.. YOU ARE MISSED!!..RIC

  • Quite lovely! I loved the shore scenes. I had another version of this song by the Righteous Brothers in which Bobby Hatfield sang it rather differently. Beautiful both ways.

  • Its so romantic..... First heard it on The Naked Gun 2 and a 1/2.....

  • The Righteous Brothers helped me get

thru my 4 years in the Navy with their

    soulful sounds.

    RIP Bobby

  • That song is heaven. Makes me think about love, life and death.

Like the tide at its ebb.

  • BOB..MISS you too much...Please...RIP...A true Brother!! YOUR VOICE and Talent is soooo missed!..BLESS YOU!!

  • Beautiful song. Righteous Brothers are one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.

  • Bobby, A legend among Legends with a Voice that could make anyone cry with the emotion and feeling that he put into every ballad he sang...Bobby always sang with such a sweet gentleness that he made you want to hear him over and over again and off stage a nicer or more genuine person you could never find....

I will never forget you sweet Angel....Until we meet again...

    Bob

  • I couldn't agree more! Beautiful

  • nobody ,but nobody sings this song like Bobby Hatfield.

  • i agree dont know how this beautiful song charted one of their best

  • G-o-r-g-e-o-u-s! RIP, Bobby Hatfield.

  • Just lovely. Thank you.

  • Great video!

  • I love this song. Its so nice

  • REST in blissfull sleep BOBBY.. you are truly missed!

  • Absolutely,Gloriously,Stunningly,Wonderful!

  • Sitting in the Chevy at the drive inn... !!!

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever made and they couldn't have picked a better duo to sing it. Don't know if anyone can do justice to this song like the Righteous Brothers did. Just pure perfection!!!!

  • They could try but I doubt if it could be done.

  • @ProudKansan08 It wasn't a duo.

  • @JaxRun Thanks, how stupid of me.Just assumed and you know about making assumptions :) that both of them both were involved somehow. So engrossed in the song all these years, guess I never paid attention to the fact it was a solo.Boy, is my face red :))

  • @ProudKansan08 Part of this 'pure perfection' is the amazing arrangement created & conducted by Perry Botkin,Jr in 1965. Unknown to us but a legend among music industry insiders, Perry's skills were such that he was arranging & writing music for the youth of the 60's AND in a softer style for their parents. No artist has written with such multi-generational appeal ! ! ! I'm the cheerleader for the talent BEHIND the singers. I've made 111 playlist for every year since 1900, added this to '65.

  • god bless the righteous brothers

  • Bobby Hatfield: A great voice lost too soon.

  • Great work! Beautiful video for such a beautiful, everlasting love song.

  • I love this,I am mostly a metal head which is odd,but what ever happened to this great and amazing music which stands the test of time, most metal bands can't have this kind of result ever in their career. long live the oldies!

  • i know i have sent this before but this the song is too damn great not to hear every now and then..thought the video would look great playing on your new comp.

    love and wide eyed wonder

    catchow thomas

  • i have this song on record and man it just sends shivers all over my body and tears to my eyes its so poetic and heartfelt thanks for posting!

  • I DO TOO!~~Totally agree with you!

  • What a voice. Very pretty and romantic.

  • Wow! Listen to that voice. Nobody could put more feeling in a song like Bobby. Righteous Brothers 4/ever! R.I.P. Bobby.

  • Beautiful!! You have no idea how this song touches me. Thank you for you wonderful display along with this great song.

  • I love this song. Its so beautiful, it makes me cry a little every time I hear it. I still can't believe Bobby Hatfield is gone. His voice was so wonderful. And boy could he hit those high notes at the end. He and Bill Medley made such a great duo. They'll never be another group like the Righteous Brothers. Rest In Peace Bobby.

  • These singers come once in a life time.

So sad he is gone, but his music will live on forever.
