hurricanes are actually beautiful in a way. been in florida for 41 years seen and been thru many and ive always lived on the coast.never asked fema for help and never looted.
Haha, I live in cleveland. It wont be too bad mate, fallen tree limbs at most for us. It's not that strong of a hurricane. . strong cat 2 isn't much to fret about. We just don't get many around here so naturally everyones spazzing out.
Isn't strange that we all come to accept the natural hazards of where we call home? No way would I live in tornado alley. Stay put and face a hurricane? Nope. But of course as I type this I live 5 miles from a major fault line in California...
i don't think California is in much better condition to than us Gulf Coast residents. Sure you don't have hurricanes, but we always hear about your earthquakes and fires!
we here just got hit by hurricane dolly, a level 2 hurricane, and aside from a few broken tree limbs, fragile trees being uprooted and being without electricity for a few days, i think Hurricanes actually have some positive...irrigated lands. i guess with each natural disaster there are the bad and the not so bad, depends on the severity. either way, i hope no ill on any part of our country, whether east, west, or gulf coasts.

Who cares, when will you idiots learn not to live in the path of hurricanes which hit the same damn spot every season... You're the same idiots that stick your hand in the lion's cage at the zoon and wonder why the hell it tears your arm off. The sooner you die, the better off the world will be. Why should the rest of the nation rebuild your shitty towns only to have them destroyed again every year, rescuing your dumn asses off rooftops and costing emergency services time and money, fuck that!
Of course, one wonders why West Coast residents live on an active fault line. Or why Great Plains residents live in Tornado Alley.
Fact is, natural disasters are just a part of life. Whenever you choose to live in an area, you choose to deal with the risks that its environment brings. Most of us here on the Gulf Coast are very aware of the risk of hurricanes. (And I'm sure the residents of the other aforementioned areas are aware of their respective risks as well!)
Point being, YOU deal with the respective risks. Don't go whining to FEMA when those risks blow your house down -- because then my taxes go up by another 0.2%, because someone's got to help you rebuild. You want to live in Tornado Alley, then live in an underground bunker not in a trailer camp! You want to live on a fault line, then don't live in skyscrapers. But heaven forbid you're inconvenienced... so much easier to just make me pay for your idiocy after the fact.
ive lived in florida all my life. on the coast, never ran to fema and never looted. im with ya. we just get some shrimp to boil pre mixed drinks ice batteries and chrcoal. let it do its worst.
