  • Just beautiful. Amazing landing!

  • alaska is beautiful !

  • Was this a landing on 26? I don't believe they even have an approach plate for it, you just have to use the rwy 08 approach plate and then circle... right?

  • I love juneau alaska

  • Very funny. I loved hearing those wheels come down.....so familiar. I have flown so many times to Alaska and back.....nice ti see it again from on high. :) Good job!

  • I landed there in 2009. Scared the livin shit out of me. Taking off was even worse..... Thanks for sharing....

  • @Abascabanochies shoulda landed in sitka before they made the runway longer and wider, they used to have to land with the brakes locked, and all you see on either side was water since runway was made on a pile of rocks forming a man-made peninsula.

  • The song of flaps is very beatiful!

  • will be landing there in 3 weeks cant wait

  • woahhh vapor trail off the flap

  • this airline lands at some very amazing airports and in crazy conditions. Their pilots put other domestic legacy pilots to shame

  • nice glide slope!

  • Nice video.I have made that landing many times.Rarely that nice.

  • great landing! That looks like nice approach to experience in good weather. Great video.

  • From what I've seen in pictures and videos, Alaska is a beatiful place. I really want to go there (even though I don't even live on American continent). Perhaps, next summer.

  • Beautiful breathtaking scenery.

  • It looks like a sideways face appears in the lower window reflection at :45. Kinda scary.

  • @kitrick42 oh my god I see it that's fucking scary. It's doing an eyebrow dance. XD

  • Isnt it freaky! Looks like the person filiming is in a reverse crash position with their knees on the floor and head cocked sideways. Blew my fuckin mind!

  • Oh yeah, after like five times reversing the video i see it. Looks scary as hell..

  • Great video. Thanks for posting :)

  • Very, very NICE!!

  • wow thats some beautiful stuff there. Thanks for the vid!

  • nice thaks for sharing. I always wanted go there but no chance. By the way do they have city and how big is the airport

  • Yes, Juneau is a small city of approximately 31,000. It is actually the Capital City of Alaska. The airport, although not very large, it is in my opinion, appropriately sized for all its use.

  • Supposedly it's up to capacity, a new terminal and runway extension is in the works. Juneau Int'l get's alot of traffic.

  • I live here in Juneau and fly often. The lengthening of the runway is a safety issue and the new terminal is not a size issue it is to improve the security, safety and efficiency. We depend on our airport so much. It is so vital to the community because of our access situation, or lack there of. The population at the last sentence was 33K. That doesn't include the seasonal workers or any tourists that pass through. A new census is being conducted as we speak. That number will rise.

  • @leon6266 the terminal is small. the airport itself its actually very big for the size of the town with all the small airlines, and heli-ports that also have to supply all the small villages around SE AK, . AKair/cargo, temsco, northstar, skagair, ward air, wings, LAB, the one next to skagair, name? and the yellow choppers, UPS, fedex, and national guard lol. used to deliver to all them but been gone 3 years cant remember them all. stay away from LAB (Lands Along Belly / Lost in Alakskan Bush)

  • Nice !

  • They make it look so easy...

"Don't forget your wallets, money, belongings, iPods, children, spouses, prosthetics, and so on..."

  • im going to alaska next summer. im so exited about it!!!

  • It is everything you think it is and more! You are going to love this place!

  • awsome!!!

  • Alaska is beyond amazing. I went up two years ago and have been trying to get back ever since.

  • cool!

  • I wish I could say this a normal landing in Juneau. You got a gorgeous day and that may have been the last sunny day here. lol Just kidding, I think we had one last month. :) (not kidding)

  • This alaskan pilot are just awesome, i surelly will fell safe in a flight with them.

  • why are they dumping fuel???

  • Now how did you get an idea like that???

  • Cuz he saw a contrail on the wings and he thought it was fuel

  • ummm i dont think they were. I believe FAA guidelines state that you have to be above a certain altitude. ... something like that. besides, it's prolly just some condensation from the wings- perfectly normal.

  • @xsilverstudx The pilots weren't dumping fuel. What you seen is called upwash of the leaning edge and downwash of the trailing edge of the wing.

  • @cgolodoff you mean contrails?

  • what is up with the reflection in the window????

  • You only see what you want to see.

  • lol

  • very smooth landing, such as I like the most

  • that's such a cool approach!

  • that place ought to be chilly in october

  • Yes. Very Chilly.

  • First of all...hello from Brazil. I'm planing a trip to Juneau next October. Do you believe I can still see bears in October? What is the spot close to Juneau to see them?

  • Hello, marcoferraz. I am a current resident of Juneau Alaska and I came across your question:) Yes, most definitely you can plan to see bears in October, but really only if you go hiking on one of the trails in the Valley or possibly on Douglas island. Your best bet on catching a glimpse of a bear would be going to the Mendenhall Glacier, where bears tend to rome. If you have any other questions concerning Juneau, feel free to ask:)

    God Bless!

  • No Bears in October. They've gone into hibernation.

  • Thanks for the video man. I can't wait to fly out there next year. What did you do there? I want to get my float plane rating and some damn good high altitude and mountain instruction.

  • What beautiful colors and contrast!

  • I prefer the mountain landing. Err, when they come from the south and have to dip down after that "sorta mountain" on fritz cove.

  • my dads plane crashed in the mountains there in September 4, 1971 Flight 1866 alaska airlines his name was Jim carson

  • I am sorry to hear that. Many people here in Cordova also had family/friends on board that flight. A tragic event. Every time I land in Juneau with bad weather, I can't help but think of that flight. I recognize your fathers name as the Second Officer of the crew that day.

  • Thank you,my mom and him divorced when I was two and he remarried and had three other children Greg, jeff, and kerry who I never met I have been looking for them for twenty years. Kip

  • Thats real flying!!!! I came into Juneau once with very poor visibility, we had two Go Arounds and then went on to seattle...sort of scary

  • Yes, sometimes landing in Juneau can be a real "white knuckle" experience! The scary part is when you have a real clear day landing, and see how close the hills and trees can get when coming in from the north!..But it is all worth it after spending time in Juneau!

  • Glad you liked it here in Juneau.

  • I'd like to visit your town. Don't worry, we won't push our way around. We're always very respectful of local people and ways lol

  • Lovely place, isn't it? I LOVE Juneau.

Did you visit or d'you live here?

  • Oh, I was just passing through. I live in Cordova. I have however, spent loads of time in your fair city and feel very comfortable visiting.

  • Ohh look, theres twin lakes

  • need to put some background music like 808 State "Lift" or Prodigy vs Enya (orinoco flow)

  • Very nice shot of the flaps. But...ummm...aren't you supposed to turn off all electronics during the landing? :p

  • Yes, technically you are correct. They, (the flight attendants),go on to explain about anything that can send or recieve a signal. I shot this with a Kodak DX4330 still cam. But I guess it is still an electronic device!

  • wow the vortexes are great.

  • nice!
