  • it was very good

  • What the hell is a Koraaaan?

  • @mac19971 Islams bible for the short definition

  • @DrawQuick2014 Really, cause I thought it was Qur'an (Simple as that) XD

  • I'm not going to deny the mountain of cliches. But I'd still give it a full price.

  • Fallout 3 the movie?

  • @luckyprince164 totally thought the same. They tried to copy the fallout 3 wasteland , but failed with the story and all that xD

  • @aseticelite how the fuck could you copy a post apocalyptic wasteland? its the apocalypse! were you expecting a different landscape after everything in everywhere get's fucked up?

  • @gabriell16bishop well resident evil extinction has its own tone, new vegas has its own style / tone , Reign of fire has its own style , the road , etc. I felt the landscapes in the book of eli looked a little bit too familiar to the fallout 3 landscapes. And I watched the book of eli twice, and played fallout 3 a lot ... I mean a lot.

  • it was a slow start and I kinda got bored with it but that was just because I was expecting a big action movie, but the action that it did have was awesome

  • dude this is freaking fallout new vegas the movie

  • A Boy And His Dog.

Not every post-apoc film has a guy with a gas mask.

  • The film was really annoying.

  • @eggertstwart ...HOW???

  • @shadowvowed187 I dunno, the hero was supposed to be blind, right? Well, he was far too badass to be even slightly believable no matter how far I suspended my imagination. Also, it's about the bible and shit, so that's pretty lame.

  • 2:41 XD

  • rental, would have been high matinee if it wasnt based on religeon. the fact that denzel was blind in the film was a pretty interesting twist

  • Fallout: The Movie

    I'm just sayin!! :D

  • Cyrus was COMPLETELY right. I give it a High Rental.

  • I honestly never get sad or upset in movies. but at the end of this movie, I actually cried. Im not religous though i once was. This movie has a very powerful feelling to it. I was absolutly blown away, and it contues to be one of my favourite movies. 5/5 movie for me, it blew me away. Really inspiring. And to be honest I think this review Is slightly out of order, its pretty fucked up. It doesn't suite the movie at all and kinda ruins the movie to hear you guys playing on it like that.

  • You don't have to be religious to enjoy the movie. I'm an atheist and I loved it.

Of course, when he's reciting the bible from memory, you have to wonder how he can go through the awful parts (like Deuteronomy) with a straight face.

But yeah... I don't find it preachy.

  • the one thing that bugs me about the film is at the end when they put the king james version of the bible on the shelf at alcatraz and its right next to other religious texts? Like the bible isnt the only book that inspires people around the world Lol

  • @techno2039 it inspires me

  • You ever noticed how many post-apocalyptic/dystopian future movies Malcolm McDowell has been in? Book of Eli, A Clockwork Orange, Tank Girl, Fallout 3 (still counts), Doomsday...

  • awesome movie

  • How was this preachy? some people are so sensative about anything religious these days that they're so quick to dismiss it.

  • @TheWordOfLife1 well probably cause religion is bullshit

  • @R2rGangstaFC exhibit A

  • @TheWordOfLife1 jay electronica? that nigga drops song everytime dre drops detox

  • I've seen hundreds of films but this one had a different feel to it than most others

  • if your a fallout fan this movie is amazing i loved it. lost me a little at the end but realy i think someone played fallout and said hey i want to make a movie of this . i loved it

  • kkkking king kong got nothin on mmme LOL

  • can someone tell me why I can't find this on the xbox live video marketplace?

  • fallout rip off

  • @goblinglider01 right. like fallout was the first form of media to depict a post-apocalyptic wild west. come on man.

  • I thought the movie was really boring

  • i love how he goes for the jordan 6 rings 3:40

  • Just re-watched and realized Eli was blind the whole time.

  • I'm Christain. This is the best Christian movie I've seen besides The Passion of the Christ. An I also argree with Leon, you could replace the Bible with the Koran an it would still be just as good. It wasnt preachy at all Cyrus, just cus they quote a few passeges dosnt mean they are preachin. Dont be a stuck up atheist, if you want to see preachy you should see Left Behind. XD

  • Here’s what every online Movie watcher would expect in an ideal online movie watching site….all your conditions are satisfied at Movie Watcherus….! check it out today guys….:)

  • The most boring movie Ive even seen I couldn't finished watching in 3 separate times

  • @mach65337 One of the best movies ive seen, i watched it 3 separate time

  • @mach65337 This movie was awsome you just a stick up your butt.

  • dude, you try Walking Across The Nevada Desert, Without shoes.

  • The Two Cents Show just posted their movie review of "The Book of Eli". YouTube search for The Two Cents Show. Its currently our featured video. If you like it check out our other videos and subscribe to us. We also have a facebook page! Thanks!

  • Yeah this movie sucked . The only good part is Mila Kunis throwing grenade. Boring shit that was ruined by religion. (Christianity no less)

  • @Postaldewd It was awsome your just boring person.

  • When I saw the Sphynx at the beginning of this film, I was worried that it was going to be hokey--were Albert and Allen Hughes trying to pass it off as your new post-apocalyptic breed? However, it turned into a 'full price' experience for me.

  • i liked it alot actually, maybe because im a christian but it was cool

  • This was an amazing movie. Very well done and pretty witty ending.

  • Comment removed

  • BORING movie.

  • I see it as this:The Book of Eli is the Apocalyptic World we WANT

The Road is the Apocalyptic World we're stuck with.

  • No blues brothers' quote (we're on a mission from God)? Spill crew, I am disapoint...

  • keep pressing 5

  • I hated that the girl joined up with him it ruined the movie.

  • step1:mute the video

step2: press pause and then play

    step3: keep pressing 7

    step4: enjoy!!!!

  • @dakingeman nice.

  • @dakingeman LMAO! he likes lickin shoes.

  • @dakingeman I don't get the whole press number meme someone explain it.

  • @Josh100p do the steps youll understand

  • The book is the Bible. Nothing has brought more change than the morals, customs, and traditions that the Bible has.

  • @philsnk as well as the dark ages, wars, inquisition, witch burnings.. sigh, the good times..

  • Wait, some mysterious book? Its obviously a Bible. lol.

  • if you put that hand on me again you wont get it back that was such a cheesy line

  • I hate how judgemental these guys are before they actually go, and then they let most of the review actually be that judgementalism. For shame, Spill.

  • ya not that good, ending was dumb. basically it was a movie versions of Fallout 3

  • @longlive289s Fallout 3 is a Good game so i dont get you?

  • Eh it wasnt that great. Kind of boring...

  • i know a guy in the movie

  • This movie is Hokuto no Ken meets Jesus

  • I liked the movie and thought it wasn't over preachy like many say. it had enough to where I didn't get sick of it. They did a really good job of not losing me in the plot like some movies have (Edge of Darkness) cough*. The ending didn't give much elaboration on Solara tho. what the hells she gonna do. Head west? hahah

  • the movie was actually amazing, god guided him to where he knew the book belonged and that it would help rebuild society back to what it was. god is very good, though people don't believe in him we all know he's there and thats what frightens people.

  • Why...do you motherfuckers keep basing your reviews on the 'religious' aspects of the movie???? It SUCKED, bible or no bible, scripture quotations or no scripture quotations! The movie sucked ASS lol....having the bible in it won't save it for shit sakes

  • Liked everything about it, except the overtly christian Sunday school bullshit. Full Price if you can ignore that.

  • I liked it. It really makes you hope that humanity will learn to be good.

  • i loved this movie.

i'm not a religious person (im agnostic) and i really enjoyed this movie, just because you really have some grudge against religion or something doesn't mean you have to hate the movie, its stupid how people find movies like this to be dumb and transformers 2 to be and i quote "A MASTERPIECE"

just cause its kind of religious doesn't mean you have to hate it.

  • Can not has :(

  • CARLYLE!!!! Yes. Where the has he been?!

  • My favorite part of Book of Eli was the visuals! The visuals in this film are EXACTLY what I want in a Post-Apocalyptic film!

  • So what did practising Christians make of this film? I thought the fact that it was called the "book of Eli" was obviously meant to mean that this was to be taken in the same manner as say the book of job. God gives Eli a mission which he must accept completely on faith and the world test him but in the end Eli does what god has asked of him.

This film is like an extra book of the bible if the bible were written after the apocalypse.

  • lol

  • I totally agree with rybub07 this movie was complitly SOME OL BULLSHIT!!!

  • camera - 10. Storyline - 10 acting - 10 . this movie is perfect

  • 1:05 that's 'cause gas masks are BADASS :D

  • The animation is fucking hilaious!!!!!

  • Some ol' fuckin' bullshit

  • I loved this movie, and the color scheme-or lack thereof.

  • @MrHawklan

"loved this movie. It's like how Gary Oldman wanted to use a book and religion to 'control' towns and ppl. H'es like Muhammad."

No... you mean more like the European who brought countless African slaves to America and forced them to accept Christianity over their indigenous beliefs because they were "the cursed seed of Ham".

There's always that one person who tries to start a religious argument on Youtube! To Muslims be their way and to Christians be theirs.

  • @MrHawklan

Fast forward this movie to the end and watch it one more time. You obviously missed something VERY important. I CLEARLY saw a Qur'an, a Torah, and other religious books sitting on the shelf. So Eli wasn't the first "prophet". In addition, the translator states that his particular mission is to try and reteach people about their past by putting those books back into circulation.

  • @maknun

The message I got from this film is that religion and books do NOT cause wars, only the people who choose to misinterpret them for personal gain. Basically it is saying that some wisdom can be dangerous if placed in the wrong hands.

  • @maknun Wisdom...in the Bible?

  • @quidproquo2004

Understood. I'm just trying to be respectful towards others. I'm not Christian, either, But that's the message in the movie, anyway - that these books (Al-Qur'an, The Bible, The Torah, etc.) contain some level of wisdom/morality and that men cause wars, not books. Personally, I think they are all allegorical and passages should never be taken literally.

  • @quidproquo2004 There are some disgusting parts of the bible sure. there are also some good teachings and wisdom.

  • "Cannot Has!"

  • It s like Fallout 3 on xbox360

  • @opTIKbrown

agreed. I couldnt get into fall out but now that I saw book of eli I wanna try again!

  • @Taraka1

just like me. I played it 2008 and hated it. But 4 weeks ago i bought it again and since i play it every day. it s awesome!

P.s. Yesterday i read in internet that the movie "The Road" is better than The book of Eli. I didn t see it yet but i will and i think it will be cool to watch...

  • I'd say low Matinee. The scenes, acting and music were fantastic, but the story kind of seemed far fetched. The Book of Eli tries to be a bigger film that it really is and I sensed that as I watched it. Every time Denzel talks I cant get the picture of American Gangster out of my head. Gary was awesome and I was surprised to see Tom Waits, who actually had a kind of big role. In all, The Book of Eli is not a bad movie, but going into it with high expectations will result in disappointment.

  • some ol' bullshit

  • Its an awesome movies, all the haters, trolls and morons out there can go fuck themselves. Its an awesome movie and i recommend it to everyone.

The atmosphere, the plot, the characters, the acting are all amazing, but the directing shines the most. Better then sex :D

  • The movie was GREAT !!!!

  • LMAO!!! Malcolm Mcdowell impression :D

  • I thought this was gonna be an epic post apocolyptic film but it turned into a corny cat and mouse story.

At the start it seemed like a film where everyone was struggling to survive by any means but it turns into a really corny film where everyone gets shot.

Also it played way too much into the religious side

    overall id say rental, 6/10

  • ELI IS SO DEEP, IF YOU WATCHED IT AND MISSED IT. THEN YOU CAN'T KNOW GOD.

  • Yeah I do think Its a decent movie, Its got a fairly simple story/premise. And I really like to see Denzel do something different, Ive never really ever saw him take on sci-fi or fantasy before, so I think he does a great Job, Its a great movie.

  • I know that some people may not find this movie all that enticing to watch, but it is a very thematic based movie in that it tries to intertwine the 'human' side of religion and human nature while showcasing it juxtaposed with seemingly bleak yet rather almost probable imagery of human kind's future. The movie isn't awesome, and it does have its share of flaws, but this film is sincerely emotional enough to let its simplicity become a medium for this profound theme and aspect of our humanity.

  • this was a great move, the trailer really was shit though. and that malcom mcdal guy whatever is only in the very last scene

  • fallout the movie

  • @icap3016 get a life and a new job! stop spamming, its not helping the youtube community

  • I enjoyed most of it, but was extrememely upset by Mila Kunis' character. I almost couldn't stand to watch her.

  • @themelodymaker12 I disagree about Mila Kunis, I really like her. She was good in this.

  • i felt the movie touched on the duality of religion very well. i loved it

  • every time i saw Denzel fighting in this movie, i yelled "BAMF!!"

  • This movie was too far fetched for me. Him being blind and being able to "sense" a white house a mile away when hes on a cliff, no way. When you finally understand that hes blind and then look back at the whole film well it just isnt possible.

and dont talk to me about god.

  • @redsk4ter Well its meant to show that God guided him, and all things are possible through God, it's what the movie is about...

  • @ZackTM21

    try again

  • @ZackTM21 thats what made it cliche. it was pretty boring to say the least.

  • @ZackTM21 Nah, man. It's about the quest; the Ark, the Grail, Moses, Muhammed. And it's also about MIla Kunis is a skimpy sun dress.

  • Great movie!

  • Stop spamming!!!!

  • This movie smells like the shit out of my anus. Can anyone smell it?

  • these guys r really fucking annoying

  • Really wish i wouldve seen this at theater, but watched 4 times AT least when i rented. Awesome film....not preachy at all, but thought provoking; not intensely but definitely a keeper v_?

  • When they surrounded Denzel at the house, he should have yelled "YOU MODDAFUKKAS WOULD BE PLAYING BASKETBAL IN PELIKAN BAY WHEN I'M FINISHED WITH YOU !!!"

  • I really liked this movie! My only complaint is that the fight scene in the bar is really fast which made my eyes cross a little. i had to rewind it like three times to catch it all.

  • I enjoyed this movie right up to that last 10-15 minutes I love Denzel Washington in movies like Man On fire and this movie as well but High Matinee is the best I could give it.

  • that slut form that 70's show ruined the entire movie to be honest

  • Movie Good. Critics. Bad!

  • why the hell is this a review of a trailer for like 3 minutes...

  • i would love being the last man on the planet just like everyone just dissappears. it would be cool

  • It's right under 'the road warrior' and above '28 days later' on my list of favorite post-apocalyptic movies.

  • @VecTron5 had a fallout 3 style...Its just a different tone I liked the bleakness really set the tone for me and the mood

  • 6 stars out of 5

  • This movie was fantastic. Definitely recommend it.

    And no, it wasn't "preachy".

  • Damn, they r really talking BIG shit about The Book of Eli & they couldnt be more wrong. I give it 4 stars out of 5.

  • whats the music at 3:16?

  • The animation in this series is awesome

  • the movie is amazing, but alot of guys thought it would suck.

  • He was blind in the movie (:

That was the secret : D

  • U guys was way wrong about this movie, 4 stars 4 me...

  • One of the best movies I've seen in along time. Two actors who never disappoint, Denzel & Leo D. Shutter island is also amazing. In a age where so much is reliant on special effects, it's great to see great acting. The main point I got out of it is knowledge is power and have unshakable faith. Don't let your hate for religion prevent you from seeing one of the best movies of the year.

  • gas masks are uncomfortable

  • now i dont feel like watching it just because of the cliche' "If you touch me again you won't get that hand back" and mila kunis trying to sneak a peak while denzel is asleep..........those 2 things are in EVERYTHING

  • it was not preachy. please don't say that again.

  • i thought that the storyline was pretty good even though they carried this book thing and they have this whole end of the world feel kinda kill it

  • Malcolm McDowell was so amazing in A Clockwork Orange.... what the fuck happened?

  • This movie has some of the best imagery i have ever seen I love Denzel Washington and they really gave him a part that he never really gets he is a great silent warrior well I certainly like this better than Man On Fire Very good matinee

  • if anyone has ever read or studied the Chrysalids, you may understand the mindset or situation faced in a post apocalyptic society, it involved controlling society using religion, this story wasn't just thought of, there is a lot of strong speculation about the power of religion, people hope and that is what we live for and this story captured the escence of that, still it was preety wack that he could get around being blind and all

  • best film i have seen in three years

  • This movie was incredible, I have no clue why it would get a rental...

  • This movie sucked ass. it's Madmax meets Waterworld meets kung fu meets passion of the christ. This movie would only be enjoyed by Christians, and not true Christians either, only the ones who are Christian on Sunday's and holidays.

  • @digitalgenitals this movie would only be hated by atheists

  • @holycowrap MY GOD'S MORE POWERFUL THEN YOUR GOD! RAWR!!(POUNDS CHEST FEROCIOUSLY) A BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!!!!! lol just joking man I repent I repent. I just didn't think the movie was all that good aside from the whole religious aspect. And if they were going to go religion with it I think it could have been done in a better way.

  • @holycowrap im athiest and i liked it

  • @poopamultimatepoopy That's good, I'm glad you liked it. I meant no offense, I was just responding to that other guy's comment

  • @jackmosley06 sorry
