  • pretty nice video my friend! that`s an amazing view. thanks a lot

  • Sooo COOOL video, bro! "smooth like butter" :) If you had enough altitude to spare, second wave goes usually higher :) What was the wind speed (20?m/s?mph?kmh?)?

  • Has anyone one done this in a paraglider?

  • Deane, yes it was a convergence of land and sea breeze. About 20 out on the water, land-side unknown. The only location of lift in on the seaward side and slightly above. The backside and below are regions of massive sink and turbulence. When the great basin highs set up, we experience off-shore winds here and that is when it can occur.

  • Really awesome that you got to be part of such a rare micrometeorological event!

Is this the convergence of a land and sea breeze? What were the wind speeds?

I see you only flew on the ocean side. Is there better lift there? Is there lift above and on the land side too? How often does this happen?

  • brill brokenshphere too!

  • Very cool, but why didn't you keep going? On the UK's S. coast , flights of around 80 miles have been made on coastal convergence. Surely a site record was possible with a modern hotship?

  • Nice!

  • Truly epic Cayucos flight John. Thanks for sharing....

  • Very cool flight John. Glad you got it recorded!

  • @NMERider Thanks for the technical advise-I wouldn't have been able to get it without your help John.

  • Very nice!
