Medicare is not bankrupt. Its easy to misinterpret that since it cost a lot of money with not a lot of return you could say it was bankrupt. But its still strong and my grandparents are perfectly happy with it. So i understand why you try to say that.

We still run the Police fire and military well, so why not a public option, which, by the way, is NOT government run health care, but a government provided insurance plan.

It used to be 2019, now it's projected to go 2 years earlier because of the unemployment levels that we've been dealing with. It's unsustainable because too many politicians on both sides have promised too much over the last few decades and now it's gonna start coming to a head. There's no misinterpreting that, even Obama will tell you that. It's not efficient. Good intentions, yes, but it's not working.

Free competition was present in fire companies for a century, which was an utter failure. In new york during the 19th century, private firemen would regularly get into brawls over who could charge for each individual fire, would show up drunk and generally create a ruckus.
