Put a wireless down by the water to get that nat sound...I hear ya, have worked in TV news for 15 plus years...you get the yappers but sometimes that adds to the excitement as well..cuz ppl are crapping their pants over this and it adds to the element when you hear the "ohmigosh and wholy shit" and then the NAT sound of the rush of water. Thanks for responding :) What did you use to shoot this?
@babyruthbars No honestly thank you so much for the critique and advice. I am completely self taught and so I take any and all advice seriously.. Yes I definitely agree with you and in the future I will plan ahead on the audio end...
Haha I have no wireless audio things of any kind. I shot this with a Canon HV30 and a Nikon D-90
@babyruthbars Thanks! I agree with you that nat sound is the way to go in a video of this sort, but IMO it only works when everyone around you knows that that is what you are trying to achieve.. I went through all of these clips and the crowds of people talking overpowered almost all of them :(
I was there and shot some tape but yours is amazing. You got some incredible footage and some great effects. But your music was distracting. Sorry Gretchen.
Awesome job on both filming and editing! You must have arrived before the cops did. They wouldn't let me close to the river with my camera. I also had to leave my tripod behind. So did you ge a chance to see all the flooded houses? Crazy isn't it?

@Ty921 Thanks! It's called a time lapse. There are three of them in the video, and for each one the camera was placed on a tripod with a certain view and left still for a set amount of time (about forty minutes to an hour and a half). Then the video is sped up and cleaned, and that is the result.
Excellent video! Some interesting, and ironic shots in some places that were pretty cool. Although I saw personally much of what you shot, yours was a cool, fresh look at it.
I enjoyed this - particularly the sped-up bits - would have liked to have heard some sounds of the flood too though.
