  • The one and only Luton Girls Choir !!!!. Thank you so much for posting this. This music is the foundation stone of decency , and a mile post of a time gone past, that as you get older, you want to draw back to. Certainly a very special sound of what I call the unique shimmering voices. Thanks again.

  • this brings back such good memories to me my daughter was in this chior but much later this is a war time choir to start with so sad it didnt carry on when the choir master retired mythras90x

  • George Melachrino was a famous orchestra leader of the 19540's and 50s and possibly earlier. I had no idea he had conducted the Luton Girls Choir!

  • A wonderful sound from a lost age.

  • absolutely delightful - I am glad I stumbled across this music on youtube. Thank you

  • The Luton Girls Choir was given a first big break by Richard Tauber on his 1945 Christmas broadcast. They recorded much of his repertoire, and sang this and 'My Heart and I' at the Tauber Memorial Concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 20 February 1948, having recorded both numbers at Abbey Road Studios earlier that day.

  • Well done. what a wonderfull sound.
