When we stayed there we had no idea what kind of motel it was, only that it was the only one with a vacancy that night. We just thought it was humorous that it turned out to be a fleabag motel and so I filmed it for fun. My late hubby was from Pike county and he liked the area and had fond memories of it. :)

In fact he left while I was still sleeping to go and get us a better motel. He could've been sleeping which he needed but instead took the time to find us a better motel. SO it eventually worked out for better. :)
Believe it or not Jenny Wiley was sold out lol. We were going to a reunion there which was why it was all sold out as well as other motels. We learned from this incident to book your rooms in advance if you are going to that area.
I guess the Jenny Wiley State Resort Park was waaayyy out of your price range. There is NO WAY ALL the rooms at the park were sold out October. Anyone familiar with Floyd County knows there were others options available in 1992.
