  • Interesting but not totally accurate. You cannot lump all Doppler units together, eg.. Pulse Doppler vs Continuous Wave Doppler. Also, this video does not mention how far the cross correlation signal will travel in the flow. Will it work in both 12" depth and 72" depth? (rhetorical question as I know the answer). Velocity Profiling Pulse Doppler will profile velocity in depths from 3 inches to 30 feet. Google "Velocity Profiling Flow Meters" and take a look.

  • You have to distinguish between Pulse Doppler with spatial resolution (ADCP systems) and simple ones with comparable technology as the continuous one. ADCP may offer a spatial resolution of 4-10”, correlation method (CM) starts at 0.5”. Therefore CM can determine velocity profiles in all applications that we address. ADCP require bigger dimensions. Our “long range” version covers distances up to 50” applying chirp technology. Again, it is sufficient for all applications that we address.

  • thank you very much for this video..because of this i learned cross correlation concept and application....
