Thanks for posting this! I'm really looking forward to finally getting my motor onto the inflatable boat. Feels good to have things out of storage. Thanks for the helpfull comment posts. Best luck.
These little boats with a electric motor on them is just pure fun! i can sneak up on fish, or other wild life, and get some great pic,s. pvc pipe is a cheap way to stiffen these boats and add a electric motor, have a look.
Real quick, can you explain to me exactly what kind of battery you have? Also how to you connect the battery to the motor? Do you use a breaker in between? Do you have a separate starter and a marine deep cycle battery? Please im hunting for information as to how to set my boat up correctly thanks.
i just got the boat and me and my dad made a motor out of a weed wakker used a reel boat prop just taped the shaft of the weed wakker motor to accpet the prop the use lock tight to hold it on hope it works
i got lucky raiding parents shed and some old tent poles with these plastic things that let you make angles allowed me to attach a piece of plywood for my free motor

is that boat pretty durable? like say if u go over a stick or something sticking out of the water and dont see it would u have to be worried about ripping a hole in the bottom?
I just bought a 30lb minn kota trolling motor but i do not know where to buy a good battery for it. Can you please refer me to a website or a store? I would really appreciate it. Thank You.
don't really show how you had the mount made, kind of a short video. If you can, close up of the mount. And is that platform somewhat mounted or squeeze in onto the raft? Thanks.
Generally, if you put a motor (any kind of motor) on the boat you're required to required to register it.
I use mine with a gas outboard motor and I don't register it. Most of the time I look like a poor schmuck (because for whatever reason I am on the water with this thing I must be a poor bastard who can't afford a boat) and the authorities would rather leave me alone because I'm just not worth their time.
its just some 1/2 piping, you need to kind of have the 'holding' pegs pointing in at about an 80* angle for it to hold really well.
googling the factory mount should serve as a good enough picture to base it off of, after that its just imagination, i'm actually thinking of making one where the support arms are shock cord so i can sun tan/pass out across the back of the boat :P
all you need to figure out is how to make it solid, should be pretty simple.
i'm just using a 120 AH Deep Cycle from Wal-Mart, it's an energizer.
and i'm using a 10/2A Automatic Deep Cycle / Standard 12 Volt Charger 'Motomaster' brand from Canadian Tire,
the battery was around $110 CDN and the charger was on sale for $40 CDN.
the mount is just some 1/2" copper tubing, 2 pieces of 1/2" ply wood and 6 clamps to keep the pipe and wood together, that and a few screws. i really just looked at the picture of the sevylor one then went and just winged it.
natural fallen tree dock as well complete with mud boat launch. ;)
there are little lakes like this all over Saskatchewan, this particular one is creek fed and is a natural lake. it just happens to be very small, but the fishing action is huge.
the perch become really active in June, July and August, the pike are active all the time. biggest i've caught out of here was 13.5" avg is 10-12"
and no i can't tell you where this one is, buy a quad or a 4x4 and find your own little lake :P
nice boat i have the fish hunter 250

@BeigarthTV boat weighs about 50lbs, the battery much more. capacity is over 800 lbs forsure.
2 people plus gear is about all this will do... them calling it a '6 person' on the box is insane.

Do you have a wood floor in this?

how fast can you get it going on your boat??? also do you think a 40lb thrust will be moch more powerfull?
patnyay14 8 months ago
@patnyay14 i'd say it goes about 6mph full tilt, a 40lb thrust would maybe power it up to 7-7.5mph.

@washn2hiphop40 it's a maintenance deep cycle from wal-mart, the biggest i could get because i'm not always around a charge source for a few days.

Im wondering how long does your deep cycle battery last. Im guessing 4 to 5 hours?
toneteck 2 years ago
yea, i do have some trickle charge solar panels that i use on sunny days, you get an extra 30 min on it roughly doing it that way.
i usually only run at about half-throttle so it lasts a long time.
a 30lb motor will draw 30 amps an hour, so a 120 a/h will 'technically' last 4 hours.
