  • he has as alone orove the expl of 2 of his friends who are similar but no tale on if they did their research at the same time and using what firewall and what internet browser as well as antivirus who are all an element of filtering infos and data in general.

  • DID HE ACTUALLY TIRED OT HAVBE 100 OR AT LEKAST 20 PERSONS DONG TH SAME SEARCH AT THE SAME TIME WHO HAD FAR DIFFERENT VIEW POINTS AND LOCATIONS, SO TO SEE IF HIS THEROY WAS TRIE OR IF IT WAS ONY I HIS IMAGINATION?

looks like the guy is just blabling.

  • Ugh most of the tweets were outside of Iran. The data infrastructure was not sufficient for the claims.

  • There is a chrome extension called Disconnect, which among many other privacy features has the ability to depersonalize searches across the web. Google also offers opt-out extensions of it's own, one of which depersonalizes your searches through their engine. I use both of these, as well as a few of the other Google ones, AdBlock, ChromeBlock, and Widgetblock. It is possible to avoid being tracked, advertised to, and having your personal information treated as a commodity with a little effort

  • Fascinating!

It seems the level of public discussion is more polarized than ever and less about LEARNING than ever. (maybe more about yelling your extremist point of view AT someone?) The filter bubble is just one contributing factor in this on-going trend.

I sincerely hope the powers that be (and folks in general) heed your suggestions and make an effort to lessen this filter bubble effect.

  • @MarkLipka Polarization is just a perception. Humans have never been more aligned and homogeneous.

  • don't live in a bubble!

  • Thanks for sharing this. Very interesting. How do I get more information?

  • Do you think you can see anything you like on Facebook? That Google produces unbiased results? Watch this - we are being encouraged to tay just the way we are. And you can't do anything about it.

  • I was wondering why I get different results at home and at work, even on Google Books
