New theory on Moondancer: from an Earth, Wind and Fire live album. I have no proof of it... but I do have an Earth, Wind and Fire live album :p

What makes you say that, then? Did you actually hear the sample?

I wish. The instrumentation sounds like Earth Wind And Fire in any case. Compare to the sample used by Bob Sinclar for Save Our Soul (EWF - Devotion (Live)). Very similar style (or maybe i'm just crazy)

I don't even know how you find some of the samples you find on Ishkur's Guide. You must have a good ear and a diverse listening library.

Of course, I did not *personally* spot ALL of the samples I have submitted. But more than half of them, surely. Most of the stuff on more obscure labels. I WISH I had spotted the Nicolas Vallée - New New York break. I love Cameron!

I don't want to sound like an ass, but I do have a pretty sharp ear. That Stephanie Mills sample in Demon - Lost Highway is mad discreet.

I totally get what you're saying. I can identify a lot from samples if I hear the song enough. For example, Spermstars - Seventh Heaven... chopped to hell, but I knew it when I heard it.

I think it's a good thing when we have to search for samples. There is a form of pleasure in trying to find them, then listening to new and old music, thus increasing our level of knowledge.
