Use a Mac and Live Interior 3-D Pro to do a quick throw together of a scene like this, then port the output to a sketchup file and render in Sketchup with V-ray.. BAM, this animation just became easy to do, timely, and affordable! Woohoo!
how do i get sketchup animations to not look fuuzzy n blurry like yours? is there anythin u changed from the normal animation settings or added to them?
When people complain about the camera movement in Sketchup, they have to bear in mind that a better job can be done - I find that if you create a scene after a movement with a very slight alteration, it can give the effect of the camera slowing down. This same effect can be used for smoother transitions, rotations etc. Though, granted, SU copes better with straightforward, linear camera movements.

You did a great job. So with vray you can do the animation with sketchup and it's rendered? I'm having so much fun using Irendernxt... but this seems way more better.
I just think it would make an excellent marketing tool for securing sales of properties that are yet to be built. But I was wondering if it's affordable when it comes to marketing regular-sized homes. I know that renderings of this kind have been used to market large infrastructure like apartment high-rises but is it still viable for marketing regular-sized homes which generate a substantially smaller revenue?
Your right, it is a great marketing tool for every level of real estate/architecture. If this is just for general knowledge, then I can answer it that way...if you are actually interested in a service like this, then we can contact one another privatelyy. It can be tricky for a number of reasons, but to answer your question...yes, something can be worked out that makes it affordablel to do this sort of work for regular sized homes. Just let me know and I can formulate a better response.
It is just refular glass with a green color for the fog color. I cant remember anything else in particular that was any different, but I will try to find the file and let you know.
Thanks a lot, u know refraction settings in sketchup are kinda tricky, default srttings are a lil bit wrong, at least when a i use glass with no depth.. try to check my stuff
One constructive coment would be to change the tv image to something that could be static for the duration of the video such as a sky tv menu or something along those lines. also the fire will probably look good in 2D renders but in a video its too stationary, looks like a picture (which it is) not really a simple way of correcting this, so if it was mine id opt to leave the fire out the video, and show it in 2D renders. In all tho a great vid!

Just out of interest... How much would you charge a client for an animated rendering of an entire house with this sort of visual quality?

Before I answer, I have to ask the reasoning behind the question, because this sort of thing can be a little tricky.
