... it's a pity that Urs didn't sing David's part that day because the guys quite commonly switch parts when the sing live. It sounds like he was the most capable of singing high notes for the day.
And Carlos looks uncharacteristically serious here. Usually his face is just a huge teethy grin from ear to ear.
Good performance guys! But sing something new next time please!!!
4lilaHerz - well spotted! I didn't notice Urs' hairstyle myself, which is weird because my eyes are usually for his looks only! :P
And speaking of looks - it is his nicest hairstyle yet!!! :D
To me, David doesn't sound flat at all. Rather, he sounds like he's attempting to flatten his sound, as though he thought his voice sounded too tinny/high-pitched that day. Hence his notes end up sounding nasally and underpitched. Since the guys often switch singing parts live, ...
Hi everyone! I'm fan as well and I liked this video very much! they sing very very well... The four voices are wonderful, but David is excellent! and Sebastien too!
the third guy is Davey-normally sings in a higher register and was a little off at the beginning however soon picked up the count. They were fab as usual and they all looked brilliant but Urs looked absolutely beautiful (as usual)
These voices are amazing. We can't wait to hear ORIGINAL songs rather than someone else's cover song. We wish more US Americans appreciated the Classical POP style of music.
EclecticMusic4World .. I don't understand why you made the comment that you wish more US Americans appreciated the Classical POP style of music? I read back on the comments and did not find one that you might even be responding to. I guess maybe because of the song they sang. I am American and sometimes it seems like British people hate us. Why is that? I love me some British!!! I especially Love Tom Fletcher!!!! I like all genres of music. Don't know what "I" ever did, but SORRY!!
We Americans do appreciated Il Divo and classical pop .. all of their concerts are sold out here. I watch them on You Tube everyday and have their CD's. They are fantastic plus very nice to look at.
Great for this to be on Youtube. I was away and my recorder did not run (swear, swear), so I am so pleased to be able to enjoy my very favourite group. Well done.
We were there, but we traveled for two hundred miles, waited in the line for an hour, and THEN got stuch behind barriers!! This reporter came and started saying stuff like "If they can't even orginize this how are they gonna orginise the London games, and we were all like "Yeah!" So then about minutes later everyone was so annoyed we all just stormed the gates! EL DIVO WERE MY FAVOURITE BY FAR THOUGH!!!!
Celebrating britishness and 2012 = IL DIVO??. They are great by the way but its ironic how some white britains are like white britains come first and with a large scale event like this they are showing a classy international band which have nothing to do with britishness, well maybe cos british singers , the majorty suck!!..They need the feel to bring in the talented guys!! LOL. England is a very confused nation!- Shall we conclude that all nations should live in harmony- Yes =]
goodness you two, let's just accept IL DIVO aren't British, but that both IL DIVO and BLAKE are very good in their own ways :) I've said it before, BLAKE are ten years younger than the glorious IL DIVO boys, so give them time. This wasn't their concert, but I'm sure they'll have others just as big. BLAKE sell records in Australia, Japan, Denmark and the UK - so they're doing really well for their young ages, I'm sure IL DIVO wish them the best, so lets all bury the hatchet and do the same :) LOL
this IL DIVO band were auditioned in separate parts of the worlk, based on looking like Armani models (all in Simon Cowells recent book), he then brought them to the UK, because, as he states himself, we were more likely to "buy into the idea" and it was cheaper than taking them directly to the US, where he had no influence at the time. Since then, he's brought them back to the UK for launches and press ops only - hardly in the British spirit is it??? EVERY other band today was British. IL DIVO?
let's say you actually understood the book...watch some videos with simon talking about these guys...you'll understand what he was looking for...im sure he was actually looking for singers. i don't understand your reasoning. take a deep breath and suck it up!!! has someone died because they were there? i understand if you don't like the music, but you make no sense.
oh...and maybe you can tell me the title of the book...when blake sells 20 mil copies around the world and when they are not trying to be copycats, crying on facebook to il divo fans to support them, maybe that is when you can comment against these "armani models" ... on another note, i'll say it again...that was amazing :)
Such lovely comments to read....when 2012 arrives, black people who are wonderful atheletes will be classed as british....and the other poor neighbours....Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish will be embraced as long as they bring back a gold....then back to the gutter for them.
wait a second...you mean an international band can't sing in an international event? i thought every country could participate in the olympics...whats with the exclusivity? and these guys showed CLASS out there. everything was on top on this performance.and ive read some comments on youtube about these blake people. the only comment you have to say is that blake is an all british band? you're smooth!!!
I don't disagree with the last comments, but the UK is internationally known for it's cultural and ethnic diversity.I think there is room for all and a mixture of home and international stars is a great one.
Hmmm, having read the below comment from an obvious BLAKE fan, I checked out their performance of "Up Where We Belong" on YouTube - have to say, seems strange the BBC didn't choose them for this show, as they are so obviously all British, and very proud of it????
nod to comtecia on that comment! - it's true, all the other bands were British and proud - why didn't All Angels or BLAKE sing instead? I think that "Up where we belong" would have been perfect, and BLAKE gave an amazing performance of that on the BBC's Last Choir Standing too :)
Brilliant performance I hope Seb & Co,(pardon the abbreviation)utilise these great international stars in 2012. As they said in their radio 2 interview they bring a grandeur to the songs they sing that whips up a frenzy and energy. I couldn't agree more. Brilliant.
Yes, thats the rumor, is not oficial yet, but that is a wedding ring!
A diva that went to the rehersal yesterday talked to them and she congratulated him for his babies & for the wedding and He said that was beautiful and he is very happy!
Thanks for posting this. I've been looking forward to seeing their appearance since this was announced. Now looking forward to the new album in November.
Wow! Amazing! I would give everithyng to hear them live! Maybe someday they will come to Romania!
