  • One of the best versions of What´d I say!

  • 1:44 Michou Libretti?

  • Excellent, la classe ! mdr...

  • C'est surement "age tendre et tête de bois", vu Raisner, mais quelle année ? Merci !

  • Oh yees

  • I really like the Vince.

I'd love to hear a real cover with his own voice.

  • who copied who.. elvis or his?

  • Vince was a lazy, inaccurate and flippant singer. Listen to Ray Charles for the real thing.

  • That's where Moony & Baker got the twin bass drums from too!

  • so that's where Alvin Stardust got the look

  • FAG

  • Comment removed

  • I'd say Ray Charles performed this song 1000 times better...

  • Veence Tay-luh et hees Playboyz........In-Cray-Dah-Blah!!! SO original and fresh!! (SARCASM). The extra bass drum was where le boys kept their wine and cheese!!

Yes, they were tres cheesy and tres whiney.

  • C'est way-out!

  • HOLY WOW!!!

  • Elvis could have taken some lessons from Taylor.

  • This is 1961 I believe...

    Hang on.

Double bass drums, in a rock and roll band?

    in 1961?

    The history books need re-writing!!!

Many people consider Vince Taylor to be an Elvis clone. Neither he nor the Playboys were song writers and musically maybe they borrowed as much as they contributed...

But for theatricality, image, stage presence, mood, impact - they were years ahead of their time.

  • I'm a big Elvis fan. Voice-wise Elvis easily wins the battle. Taylor's a great singer, but come on, he can't hold a candle to the king. But moves-wise, sex-appeal, charisma? I think I'm voting for Vince.

  • @rb62470 vince over elvis are you on crack,

  • @krypticzisback Not sure what I was thinking during my Vince phase. I will say that his television performance of Shakin' All Over probably tops any stage performance Elvis ever did. But this here and most other Vince one's just really aren't all that.

  • Can someone please tell me what year this was made?

    thanks in advance.

  • quelle rock oupiiii

  • super encore

  • hahaha omg hahaha

  • I now know where Shakin Shitpens and Alvin Fartdust got their look.

  • The best rockabilly singer! Love his leather look too - ~

  • fantastic drumming and dancing what more can u ask for ?????

  • These guys were years ahead of their time... lots of people at the time would be singing this material, but the image, the leather, the looks, the heavy guitar sound.... the drummer with double bass drums????

    Years ahead!

  • 0:52... When did young Harmony Korine get a time machine to check this out?

  • is that jeff beck on guitar?

  • I bet this was from when tony was still in the band, great tune man great great tune hyper tempo

  • No matter how much rockabilly singers I try, Vince Taylor still sounds the best. He just gives me chills.

  • so thats were alvin stardust got his style love them both

  • pure energy and bags of fun!

  • EVERYONE was doing Elvis. just watch vintage footage of the London Philharmonic from that period....

  • sure he was good but Clearly he was tring too hard to be like Elvis

  • You can say he was influenced by Elvis but this leather look predated EP by a few years. And the gloves? Inspired!

  • @crosscatch

As you say, Elvis wasn't dressing like this until several years later...the guy who Vince DID borrow this look from was Gene Vincent. Gene's trademark was head to toe leather...most likely, he's the guy that Elvis borrowed the look from, too!

  • Its Ziggy!

  • I really liked this!!

  • One of the best beside Johnny Burnette and Eddie Cochran

  • Kurt Russell : D

  • fuckinggrr

  • Totally Fantastic. VINCE TAYLOR R.I.P

  • Vince Taylor was REALLY A GREAT ROCK SINGER (also dancer) - died too young - Miss him !!!!!!

  • @feargal75 Uh, some would say he didn't die soon enough.......

  • @TeenCretin Er-you know nothing.

  • @feargal75 I dun think dying at 60 is too young....

  • @nezveratu of course it is ! espically when its good rockers and singers like vince and gene ,elvis, eddie and all that

  • @nezveratu especially

  • really cool :)

  • Copié de "What'd I say" De Ray Charles non ?

  • Yes. Ray Charles had the hit with it first in the late 1950's.

  • MMM, he's so sexy ;)

  • Haha all the Mods dancing to a Rocker and his band (ok, it's a cover of an R&B song, but still ironic).

  • Don't think it would be that unusual (or even ironic), considering what would be happening in next couple of months & years if I'm correct in my assessment that this vid. is probably from say early 1966. Think what was about to come to more prominence shortly after this just in '66: The Pretty Things, the Seeds, the mod band The Troggs huge #1 tune, "Wild Thing", into '67 leather tone rock of Jim Morrison of The Doors & a little later than that in '68 leather tone rock of Steppenwolf.

  • Roll up Michael Landon, Chris Issac & a pinch of Elvis and this is what you get...if it were today!

  • vince taylor... inoubliable et incontournable

  • La classe ...

  • you can see where morissey got his look from!.

  • Vince Taylor's early 60's break down was one of the many inspirations for the Ziggy character. Good clip.

  • J'ai découvert cette vidéo par hasard et j'étais mort de rire, sans déconner c'est légende ce gars^^, le style les mimiques tout y est c excellent. RIP

  • Ah Vince... simplement unique !

  • Une bête de scène charismatique au possible!

    Et quel danseur!
