It's clear that Rush was talking about the perspective of the left in power now. Rush said "siphon contributions as their salaries" as if it were evil, in a sarcastic tone. He was mocking the left perspective. As a private sector supporter he wouldn't be presenting those that earn a salary in the private sector as evil. The only way you can is to ignore that he was mocking, take his comments literally and present them out of context. As Media Matters always does.
