@MindMovin Adding dextrose, fructose, plain table sugar, or many other sweeteners, will make the paste elastic, stringy, smooth and shiny in consistency. This enables you to drape straight lines without it breaking. It will also help it stick to the skin longer. Be careful though - if you're in a humid climate, adding sugar can make your henna slimy, gooey, weepy and unmanageable! Regardless whether you like your paste stiff or loose, sugar can improve the consistency immensely!
@21hotish We mix our own henna paste. If you want information on how to prepare henna, you can find a free downloadable e-book at tapdancinglizard -dot- com.
@juicystar24 henna for the hair doesn`t have the same same dye content as henna for body art. It doesn´t stain dark on the skin you need to get body art quality henna.
a question, henna for hair is the same as that used for tattoos?, I have seen a natural henna powder and water is added to the ink is ace, this is the same as that used for hair?
Henna will dye both hair and skin. We recommend you buy finely milled well-sifted henna for either body art or hair dyeing. Jamila is a good brand and widely available in the US.

my biggest problem is finding the mylar to make cones, I've tried several types of materials but all to soft to roll a good cone. Tried party stores & can not find it anywhere
u can use a ziploc plastic bag but u have to follow the instructions online.. it's pretty useful in this manner. like yourself i was wondering where i could find that kind of paper material lol
syringes are good and easier to fill them, but this cone seems to be more handly to make the designs, sometimes syringes requires too much experience and precision :S and i dont have so ^^U
The first times I tried to fill the cone with a poon from the bowl.messy & time-consuming. Then I saw this & voila works like a charm thank you so much. Henna is pretty good but fine tuning to get the right proportions, almost got it!
its easy, you have to buy henna powder then to put it in a cup or something, then you can put hot tea if you want brown henna or coffee if you want black henna, some people put little sugar but I'm not sure why, just be carefull to not put a lot of liquid( tea coffee or hot water)
and its ready, i do like that, if others have a better idea then lets go, happy to learn new things
I don't remmeber who asked this, but yes black henna is bad for your skin. it had PPD in it and that can burn your skin, like a chemical burn, it can leave scars, cause rashes, blister, etc. looks up black henna in google, or PPD
very very informative! my henna came with instructions that were not clear...and i think i get it now...thanks to your video. Only one question...what type of paper or wrap are you using? Is there a special type of wrap for henna?
The material is nothing special. It's mylar gift wrap that you can find in stores that sell party supplies. We cut it into triangles with razor knives and straightedges.

OMG! How in the world did you get that henna so elastic like, mixing some now and it definitely doesn't stretch like that!

hi were do you get the carrier bag from?
sulia12456 10 months ago
@sulia12456 The bags are called "piping bags." They're used for cake decorating. Look up "piping bag" online and you'll find suppliers.

hello what measurements do you use for the cones?
angelface190081 1 year ago
@angelface190081 Cut the mylar into ten-inch squares and then cut each square in half at the diagonal.

Try florists. They use mylar as part of the wrapping for cut flowers.

is the amount of henna in that cone enough for one design? (like on the back of the hand or the palm)
clauwie1 3 years ago
A cone the size you see in the video holds enough to do an elaborate design on a palm and fingers with some paste left over.
