What you said is really quite true. It's a crazy, tiring, dirty job, but it's somehow incredibly rewarding. I have a 7-month-old daughter and raising her thus far has been a huge challenge and also so wonderful. It warms my heart that despite jumping straight into handling 2 young kids that you are not totally horrified (that might sound weird, but I'm friends with a few pledged child-free people, so I'm used to horror from nonparents faced with the rigors of childcare).
