yogg was content over a year ago, yet even with the op abilities and HP toons have now at 85, he is still harder than 5 man cata heroics if you are doing the achieve 'alone in the darkness'. very mechanically inclined fight, it would take a very geared and knowlegable group of 5-7 lvl.85's to do him hardmode in 10man. so much Lore in this fight, I love the work blizz did with Ulduar. It's the only good thing to come out of WotLK and that's saying alot.

@zLuxz Without the buff, most guilds simply could not kill the Lich King, undeniable fact. It was never the complexity of the fight, it was simply the fact that one mistake from anyone in your group could easily lead to a wipe, even more so on heroic difficulty.

Also, many more guilds had Yogg on farm just a couple months after Ulduar, than those who had Lich King downed in the same amount of time. If you really followed raid progression that much you'd know that.

@UnorthodoxEntertainm Where's your source to confirm that? This fight, once you get it, can be pretty easy. But it can be difficult knowing your job and where to go. The fight also has over a dozen abilities that's tough to memorize unless you've been in there a couple of times. The Lich fight is ridiculously easy, and like I said, maybe your group just sucked. What's hard about dispelling the plague (which is a healer only job), strafing out of defile and burning valks?

We downed him after 4 or 5 tries the first night we attempted it last March, then on heroic we got him down in about the same amount of tries. After that every time we've gone in there we've either one shot him or downed him on only a couple tries. I've even healed the last two phases by myself in a pug. It's not hard. Must be a lot of "mistakes" on your raid members' part.

@msemanify I agree; the main challenge seems to be Phase 2, as Phase 1 is mainly about killing the adds in the right place, and Phase 3 is mainly burning Yogg-Saron down while occasionally turning away or dealing with the adds. It gets much harder with fewer keepers, but it's not especially complex for the end-boss of a raid dungeon.

@bogdantheislander Actually Ulduar Hard Modes are almost all harder than ICC heroics. ICC is just gear check (+ it has 30% buff). Ulduar will wipe you with any gear if you're doing something wrong.
