  • Katilette, did your mom pass away or what

  • Katilette,

  • Hello ! You and Shay seem to be really good parents. It is GOOD to protect your children from things that might confuse their minds or imprint negative beliefs, fears worries or images into their consciousness. Children really need the spark of hope, comedy, love, competence, confidence and good supportive family. Not every child has this. Your children do. Keep up the good work. And there are so many who even through difficult circumstance choose to heal the past to live powerful good lives.

  • Katilette what do you think about kids online virtual worlds? Are anyone of your kids on them? If so which ones?

  • @AvrgJoeTV

    Yes.

People like you should be filtered! :D

Imagine a system where it allows you to filter idiots.

OMG!, someone should totally make software that does that!! :)

  • babytards face is so funny when katilette first asks her what the Internet is

  • Ahhhh the beard!

  • this must suck for son tard

  • It's nice to see you creative in your own channel & your so beautiful just to see you guys being your self & having fun is a awesome treat thanks!!!:-)

  • i love how when they are asked what the internet is they described youtube. i loved it

  • How did Shay lose the wieght?

  • @cheetahbabyrawr working out and eating better....

  • @cheetahbabyrawr you ask how did he lose weight? well starvation.. ahahah! jkjk check out his channel " shayloss "

  • i was waiting for sontard to say '' its a place where theres a lot of . . . porn .'' cut print laugh .

  • So they can't watch some of kassems videos? Haha poor kassem :P

  • My God, This is such an shallow channel, think I'll be on my way....

  • i mean ya you can protect them from the bad stuff on the internet but not forever. once theyre teenagers you cant be treating them the same like if they were kids.

  • lol katilette how about safe search? its in the options bit somewhere :D

  • I agree with you Katillette. If I had kids, I would definetly put some restrictions on how they use the internet. Definetly wouldn't let them have their own computer till they were 15-16 or so

  • quit pimpin out your sister !!!

  • I love how Princesstard says "yes" really creepy, then Babytard says it right after...

  • This reminds me "kids say the darndest thing" haha I love the Shaytard babies <3

  • Go to tools at the top of your internet screen, and hit internet options. This will give you options for kids to block all the bad stuff. Try it out, or you can set the kids up with another log on and it will give you an option to pick from pg, pg13, and so on so you pick.

  • @shaybellysticksout First of all: What the hell is wrong with you? are you a total pervert? maniac? or something like that?! Seriously! haters will hate, BUT to write a comment like that!? How on earth can you say such stupid things and look your self in the mirror afterwards?

Second of all: Colette is probably one of the greatest parents ever where ever you like it or not! she gives the children everything they need and so does shay!

and third of all: Get the effin' out of here your psycho

  • @iloveyou18b lol, obv Trolling is obv Trolling sherlock

  • Ur sisters song made me cry. My grandmother passed away on November 8th from lung cancer.

  • @amanda112280 sorry for your loss

  • @URBANLAKEMUSIC Thank you!

  • I hate stupid attention whores that have webcams.

  • @pimpinsins I hate stupid comments like yours

  • hahhh a video about bad things on the internet and the first thing Shay says is crap :) wonderful!

  • Comment removed

  • lol they kids can't even watch brett's videos, and he edits theirs. (he cusses in some of his older-ish videos)

  • My kids use Kidzui, it only lets them visit certain websites, or watch certain videos that have been approved as being kid friendly.

  • loving the videos!

  • go to general (the Gears) and click on the parent control button, and u can set up a password and set up sites that you don't want the kids to go to

  • I use Kapersky software, it gets rid of virus' easy and its easy to tell if the kids pick up any virus' because it rawrs (like a lion) and it warns you.

    There is alot parent controls....

  • Yes. What you can do on mac is you can set parental controls, so say you didn't want the kids on the computer at like 8am in the morning you can set times and they can't log on until a certain time. And if you don't want them on at like 10 at night you can do that to :-) But you'll have to set up their own accounts. You can block sites like facebook, sexual sites and other stuff. :)

  • Haha what is the Internet?

    Babytard: Callie

    I love babytard!

  • A lot of people in my church recommend a program called Covenant Eyes.

  • if you download the antivirus software mcafee & when the kids google something there will be a green check next to the website if its a good site, & if its a red 'X" or gold "!" or even a gray "?" then they'll know its bad and not to go on it. also i think if they accidently click something bad mcafee will warn you before it actually leads you to the site.

  • hey Colette my channel has content safe for kids, I gave a copy one of my movies to a family in church, and...the kids are addicted to it.

  • K9 K9 K9!

It's a life saver, LITERALLY, in more ways than one.

  • What is the Internet? it's the ultimate resource tool, but most people just look up porn.

  • K9 is good to keep bad stuff out, and it's free.

  • You should DEF get them a typing program so they have a leg up before they get into the essay writing era of school. I also think a tablet would be a worthwhile investment after their 12th or so birthday. Its a great idea to get them technically involved and to have something to stimulate them artistically as well!

  • You should show them the crayola website... there is a page that you can virtually color so the coloring page is on the internet and you can print it out if you want to hang the pictures up.

  • I have to admit that I was nervous for the kids when you returned to LA. Of course there are the same dangers in Idaho that there are in Cali, but they seem to be easier to avoid. This video made me feel like the Shaytards are still committed to the values that brought many subscribers. Not that it's any of my business LOL

  • Your videos are really nice. They were always good but they're getting really professional. Awesome!!!!

  • i'm so proud of you for vlogging at home with the kids running around see you CAN do it

  • You should make a login for the kids, on macs you can have parental block! :) That's what use, so whenever guests use my computer they can't look up certain things LOL.

  • Use safe eyes it a software that is great

  • P.S: i use Kaspersky and the latest up to date version works the best! it also has a virtual keyboard so people cannot track/pick up your personal information

  • Kaspersky is the BEST for anti-virus and firewalls and blocks horrible things really well!!

  • System Prefrences> Parental Controls

  • Hey Collette,

I good blocking software is K9 Blue coat (google it for the site) it allows you to block inappropriate sites and all that stuff. Its very efficient. There are youtube tutorials on how to use. it.

    -Baytaslash

  • Kat: My company and a I would be happy to assist you in fool proofing your network and machines and have super user powers but with finger print technology which we'll donate on behalf of Microsoft (No sponsors or mentions of us is the catch). So let me know or my twitter is my username.

  • Mcaffe..is pretty good or Norton anti virus

  • Mac OS X has Parental Controls built in. Go to System Preferences, then Parental Controls.

  • "Where do you go on the internet?" COUNTER STRIKE!!!!

  • my mother bought a program from office depot a while back that you installed on your computer and it allowed you to control your viewing settings and things like that and you could could change them per user so your settings could be different for each person that logged on, i forget what it was called though. you could also regulate the amount of time each user had to log on during a day and when those times were. it was pretty intricate and i did not like it as a child:p

  • thank you for making videos katilette! :) I know you are busy being a mom 24/7 but you still made some time for us to vlog on your channel. Thank you!

  • lol the answers that all the kids gave to "what is the internet?" fit "what is youtube?"

  • ; )

  • There should be parental controls on your mac. I have Mac Mini so its similiar.

I'll check it out for ya if you want. :)

I'm from Winnipeg!!! My son who is 5 years old and loves surfing the net but when he goes on my Mac, I watch what he does :)

Your computer in in the right spot. WAT TO GO!!! :D

  • @iamchakra You don't believe me? C´mon look at him! He's fat! It's bad for his health and self esteem!

  • All of the kids think the internet is youtube because of all the vlogs they do! lol

  • i use macafee

  • Princesstard is adorable. That is all.

  • covenant eyes dot come (one word)

is an awesome one because it holds you accountable to some else. They get an email every week of the possible inappropriate or flagged websites viewed. We have a lot of people use it at our church. Love Callie's song! Subscribed and liked! :) God Bless!

  • lol! look in the back at 4:53 :D

  • lol when Brett came in and did that "egh" thing I snorted... Anyway, I understand where both sides are coming from with why don't you let them explore the world, and why you should keep them away. You guys have to remember that Sontard is only in the 2nd grade and the oldest.. When I was in second grade the biggest swear word to me was "shut up" or "stupid". Though they are going to figure these things out later in life, it's good to keep their childhood clean.

  • Hey Kati, We use OpenDNS.com it's a GREAT web blocker. and it's free. I agree with you your number 1 goal is to keep your kids safe.

  • they are gonna figure out "things" at some point (cursing) but great job on the safety i support you! im not a hater :P keep it up you guys!!

  • I have a special needs child with the diagnoses of mental retarded and the shaytards names do not offend us at all. We love you and will always support your great family and family values.

    Angie and Napoleon

  • go to open dns and look at the block persets

  • Blue Coat K9 Web Protection Its A Great Program For Web Safety I Personally Recommend It -- Thumbs Up So Collete Can See It :) --

  • Katilette, Please dont think your doing the wrong thing by not letting your children not have a computer in their room. Kids Really dont understand what could happen to them while they are on the internet! They dont really understand the powers of the internet! Tell your kids that the internet is like a villian in a disney movie! And they can do anything they want cause the computer is like a open field bad people can do anything they want especially to little kids. Kepp up the good work guys!:)

  • on YouTube, scroll all the way down and find "Safety Mode On"

  • @katilette hey mommytard, you can get this thing called parental block, you can add filters to the things you want your kids to see and not see. its a good way to monitor them.

  • Great video! You're an amazing woman, and keep the videos coming!

  • I am glad you guys protect your kids the way you do, I think your kind of family is starting to fade from existence. Most parents seem to just tolerate their kids and set no rules/limits or whatever. I grew up around those families whereas mine was very strict and religious.

Maybe you could bookmark a lot of kid-friendly sites for the kids to have easy access to? We do that all the time for my younger cousins.

That way they have more than Youtube to visit! :D

  • @3wrath3child3 If u let your children use youtube, they could still find gruesome stuff....

Even if u don't mean to....

  • @FugeelaWibe There are blockers you can set up, and even free software to block unwanted sites. There will always be that chance of stumbling across something inappropriate or whatever, that's just how the internet works. lol but at least there's some things parents can do to limit those chances.

As for finding gruesome things on Youtube, the Shaytards' kids seem well-behaved enough to not click on anything bad. From the sounds of it, they only visit Shay & Mommytard's Youtube friends & family.

  • Does princesstard watch KassemG?? cuz i wouldn't let that happen......for safety purposes. lol

  • We are using Kaspersky and that is a antivirus/firewall/parental control among other things. It is for PC and I don't know if it works for mac. We use it because we don't want our child to end up on poker sites, porn sites or download viruses to his computer. Until he understand how to operate a computer we will use this.

  • OH, do your kids \ or u like lady gaga? hehe

  • i love u <3 u have fun videos :)

  • What do you mean, "But he has good videos" your videos are great katilette :)

  • Collette! A good group on youtube that sings current songs but takes out the sexual content/Curse words is, cimorell. They're all very christian but they sing popular music and make it kid appropriate! I have Two nieces who are young and they love current music so I went looking around and found them and they really love it. (Plus I don't have to worry about them getting exposed to things they shouldn't) :)

  • ooooooooooooooo....shay said a bad word!!! (crap)

  • OMG Shay has lost a lot of weight. It's almost like the twilight Zone.

  • i think sontards explanation is basically youtube, haha

  • My family uses norton Macafee for security and it does weekly updates on it's own. also we have a password for our wifi.

  • Come back BeardTard!!!!!!!!

  • you look so much like your mom!

  • When i was a little kid my parents used AOL for me and my siblings. It's just really easy for the parental controls; you can setup approved sites, content ratings on games, and even tell the browser how long to allow internet access. Oh, and theres different accounts you can use for different parental settings.

  • in the top right "magnifying glass" icon called the spotlight, search for "parental controls"...

  • Ok, so you were about to answer why ur tryin to protect them from everything, but you didnt answer that.. I was wondering about that, but the thing im wonderin most about is why some words are concidered swear words by Americans... Like "fuck" why is that a swear word? Is that a bad thing? I dont understand.. In my eyes thats probably the "least" swear word I know, if thats a swear word, gun og knife, should be swear words to..

  • Since you have a Mac, just go to the System Preferences, and you will see a yellow circle under System called "Parental Controls." It's very straight forward to set up. Try that! :)

  • its soo weird hearing you say callie cuz thats my name and i dont know a lot of other callies :p

  • My parents use Norton Safety Minder, and it is GREAT!!!!! If you go on their website you can get it for like $29.99

  • THE INTERNET IS EVIL BUT WATCHIN SHAYTARDS AND KATILETTE ARE GOOD

  • So I haven't reallt seen any Shaytards vids since like May, but I'm gonna ask a stupid question anyways...have they moved this summer? Did they move back to LA? Just wondering, I guess anyone can answer who has been following them since I sorta stopped for awhile.

  • @TheTube117 yeah they moved back to LA! At first they said it was just for the summer but now they're there for good. Shay's brother Casey and his family and Carlie (his sister) and her son have also moved out with them.

  • i feel like i've seen this before...

  • Big fan of you & your family but, this video seems to be a bit hypocritical. I don't have enough fingers to count the amount of times Shay has cursed in a video. A few videos had done sexual innuendos in them. Oh yeah, what was the title of one of the new Shaytards uploads? You know the video, the one where "cocaine" is in the title. Not being a hater by any means just making a point to be careful that you practice what you preach.

  • does anyone agree that princesstard looks a lot like emma watson?

  • Is it just me or is Rocktard getting cuter and cuter :)

  • one day the kids will realized what a "nice" man uncle kassem is..... haha

  • I think when they become teenagers, it's important to trust them on the internet, but at their age, they don't know about drugs or sex, and it's important to protect them from that now.

  • your an amazing parent!

  • Kaspersky Antivirus is the best! It also has parental blocking! :) try it...I've been using it on all the computers I've ever owned for like 5 years and I have never had a problem with it.

  • You should get them a Youtube account and subscribe to accounts that you want them to watch!

  • You should just use the browsers.....or create a sign on for the kids on the computer and use the blockers setting up the sign on account

  • Net Nanny is a good one!!! :)

  • Use Kaspersky. It's a virus protection thing and it comes with Parental Control and it doesn't let you go on websites or videos that have bad things on them.

  • Comment removed

  • There is a free protection program, I think it is called K9 or something. It is not the best, but I heard that it works. Personally, our family uses Safe eyes, and that works perfectly.

  • I would shoot myself if the only computer was in the middle of family congregation.

  • 2:29-2:35 Brett's response is priceless!

  • Ahhh Rocktard is the most adorable baby ever!!

  • WOW shay lost alot of weight!

  • wow really? the shaytards dont have any internet protection? not even norton virus or AVG or mcAffe? lol seriously

  • omg stop was that babytard hiccuping at 4:36?!? SO CUTEEEEE.

  • @ashlynelizx3 LOL i was wondering the same thing SHE IS SO CUTE!!!!! :D

  • YOU HAVE GREAT VIDEOS lol

  • i use McAfee, when people send you links like youtube they have little ticks or a quesiton mark or a cross if its ok to click on and if the sites bad it will block you from clicking on it, etcetcetc ;D

  • there's so many ways to block and protect children from that bad side of the internet, but they're not all 100% secure. The best way is exactly what you do, keep the computer where everyone can see, and watch over your kids. Teach them about the internet and track their usage. Don't rely on the computer software to do the parenting. Just watch them, that's the best way to protect them.

  • P.D "Effing" Precious well in the uk Effing might not mean the same

  • I wouldn't give much consideration to those who ask "Why are you trying to protect your children?" As parents, our # 1 responsibility is to protect our kids from the bad things that could potentially happen!! You wouldn't throw your children into a room with hungry lions, so why would you let them go, unprotected, onto the Internet to possibly get bitten? We need to guide our children, so letting them go online, supervised, is okay in my book. You guys are doing an amazing job.

  • @TheChubbyButt true words spoken from a wise person

  • @TheChubbyButt There's a big difference between throwing your kids into a lions pit and letting them discover a few swear words

Of course there is a limit, but I just think you're being a little dramatic

  • @J4K31 That's okay - we're all entitled to our opinions. :o) Personally, I find a lot more than "a few swear words" popping up when doing searches online. Look within the sidebars of Youtube, for instance. I found out the hard way, after choosing my username, that videos would pop up in the sidebar of my weight loss vlogs of chicks shaking their booties around! Eek! I won't let my daughter roam the Internet by herself. It's just too easy for kids to make dumb mistakes when they're this young.

  • @TheChubbyButt I agree, some of the content on this website is very peculiar.

Surely there is some sort of parental control you can activate for this website.

  • thats a sexy snarl. i love mommytard

  • this is the problem with america today.and maybe one should not be using the word tard to describe children and using it frequently is disgusting.

  • @Piggins831 What does "Piggins" mean? I assume you are making fun of pigs and I find that highly offensive and disgusting, and that is what is wrong with commenting on subjects for which you have no real knowledge.

  • @BJEAKE your comment makes no sense and i was commenting on how using the word tard implies mentally challenged so there and it has nothing to do with pigs

  • @Piggins831 OK, I will explain. You are offended at the use of the suffix - tard because you assume it refers to a mentally challenged person. You made an assumption. I was parodying your comment by making an assumption about your user name. If you know the history of the Shaytards, you know that the -tard has nothing to do with being mentally challenged. Research it and enjoy their videos, they are about the least offensive thing on the Internet.

  • KATILETTE YOU SHOULD MAKE A VIDEO ON GOOD SAFE CHANNELS FOR KIDS LIKE ME!!! (I'm 12 and I love your videos -3) IM SICK OF THE "BAD" VIDEO'S AND IT WOULD HELP ALOT OF MOMS OUT THERE TOO! THUMBS UP SO SHE CAN SEE!!!!!!!!

  • BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK!!!!! lol i wish my mother did that for me.. kids at school could be telling your kids to look up things when they got home and not notiing whatt it is your kid WILL do it! thats how i found out about blue waffle! just BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK! :)

  • I believe you shouldn't block all the 'bad' things, I think you should learn your kids to deal with it. That they know that there are bad things on the internet but that they shouldnt be on those sites. They have to learn how to search for things on google.

  • Comment removed

  • Wouldn't it be funny if babytard was like:

"Yeah...The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks..."

  • CAN YOU MAKE YOUR HOMEMADE SALSA PLEASE 

  • K9 Web Protection.

    its free.

    it works.

    enough said.

  • oh god i WANT YOU!

  • that awkward moment when youre wearing the same shirt mommytard is wearing in this video......

  • Oh my word, Brett gave us like a rehearsed PSA, lol xD

  • AWESOME video mommytardo. If shay doesnt watch himself you could be taking over.

  • If you use the Bing search engine at bing(dot)com, there's a little wheel on the upper right corner that goes to the Preferences. On SafeSearch, you can choose the level of safety for your searches. Strict blocks out "adult" images, links, videos, everything bad.

  • on your mac go to system preferences then parental controls!!!!

  • would you sugggest to have more then 4 kids

  • that's what my mom tells me all the time, that you never know who you're talking in the internet and about safety and all that and I'm 23 lol

  • You can use Norton AntiVirus!

  • I use Firefox with adblocker, but it's only for blocking ads...

  • OPENDNS.COM will let you filter anything you want and is free also you can see if websites were blocked and because its not software it can not really be disabled.

  • mommy tarde = marge simpson

  • Mommytard! I loved your channel back when you did the editing and used a flip camera! I still love your channel - even more so now! You're movin' on up!

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaa now i can prove to my husband that im not the only one with that name

  • Don't let the kiddies listen to a lot from Nice Peter, then xD
