Heads up... You can avoid the nitwits at 9-1-1. Each boro has a direct dial to the REAL fire dispatchers.  You can find them in the phone directory if you look hard. Example: Brooklyn is 718-6361700. This is an active emergency number...no messing around please.

Next they will be routing the calls via the mayors BS 311 system which has a 60 million budget that increased this year on the backs of closing firehouses. This years budget increase for the 311 system was the same amount the mayors office said it saved in closing 5 firehouses. All this for a sytem that 67% of its calls are for noise complaints.....next time you have a fire call 311
