The Makers of "Raumpatrouille" didn't take that whole stuff serious and neither did the actors for that matter. "Cliff Alistair McLane" is Austrian Dietmar Schönherr. He dedicated most of his life for peace and his practical social work in Nicaragua is impressive!

If this series isn't released on DVD with English subtitles,Bavaria Film will lose out big time. Personally, it'll only take a few years and a small amount of money for me to learn German. I think, if a movie was originally produced in english, you should watch it in english. That's true - but if a movie was produced in german, you should watch it in german, as well as every movie should be watched in it's 'native' language if it's possible for oneself. most (even the best) translations truncate the motion picture, especially concerning jokes, etc.
Raumpatrouille is the greatest SciFi series I've ever seen, even if it was in b/w and had only seven episodes. Did you know that McLane kisses Tamara in the closing scene of the final episode? Couldn't find it on YouTube, though.
