  • Packet prioritizing is a part of network management. But NN laws being proposed would only allow type, not origin differentiation. This would be bad. Imagine a digital carpool lane. Rather than carpoolers, it's filled with traffic from sites that paid extra. This cost would be for access to specific linkages in a network. Content providers could pay more so their packets get around traffic. Large files would arrive more quickly. This would be great-especially for movies over the web.

  • Maan, this is a great video. Helped me out a lot on my Science worksheet. Thanks for entertaining me. Bearded guys rock.

  • This video misrepresents what many NN supporters advocate for. In point of fact, many NN supporters are okay with allowing network operators to prioritize packets based on their content type -- in other words, allowing video to get priority over email.

This video makes it sound like even that basic logic would be forbidden under NN, which simply isn't true -- look at the conditions AT&T agreed to in their merger, content discrimination based on data type is allowed.

  • awesome.
