I've had hamsters that have lived under a year, and found out they had something wrong with the lungs which i couldn't of prevented.. Get your facts right.. It's not just how we take care of them. These people seem like wonderful owners that really cared for that hamster and 2 years is quite old for a hamster anyway..

Man... this video is awesome. Last moments with ones darling pet. The fact that it lived two years is fairly good, since that is the typical lifespan for a household hamster. As it says on Wikipedia, most known species of hamsters typically live for 2 to 3 or 4 years. Going down the slide likely had nothing to do with reducing its overall lifespan. It was just old, and old things die off. Nothing lives forever.

They RARELY recover from it and sometimes, they get so weak that they won't move and because their breathing is so shallow at this point, it can easily be mistaken for being dead.
