  • Thumbs up! Very cool!! Congratulations! ---Greetings from Brazil!

  • Masashi Hamauzu will be performing a concert on the 22nd May 2011 at Paris. I've bought my ticket ! Damn i can't wait, there will be an autograph/signings session that will last one hour, then concert will start. I hope to be able to speak with Hamauzu san and gets some copies signed and eventually a picture !

  • Ever since Unlimited SaGa I've been following Hamuzu's works. He is without a doubt one of my favorite composers, probably my number 1 favorite. The music he composed for Musashi, SaGa Frontier, Final Fantasy 10, Dirge of Cerberus, Sigma Harmonics, and final fantasy 13, are some of the best things I've ever heard. I hope he continues to make even more amazing tracks from here on. I think that without his music some of these games wouldn't be as enjoyable.

  • umm im just hearing of this guy but i really like his music, how much of SaGa did he compose himself??

  • @Ziggyiggy1 Masashi Hamauzu have composed all songs for SaGa Frontier II and Unlimited SaGa

  • @Ioria8M what about sigma harmonics those are all his as well?

  • @Ziggyiggy1 yeah.,.also sigma harmonics! this album is a true masterpiece !*__* some theme resamble some tracks of Final Fantasy XIII

  • Masashi is a genius. The music in FF13 is just so...different, and some of it is unearthly.

Four words. The Cradle will fall. That is my favourite piece by Masashi from 13. It holds unexplainable beauty...I hope that if you have not heard it that you decide to :3.

  • @princesspixiechloe yeah yeah I know it! is a beautiful piece, but I think that my favourite is "Will To Fight", "Snow's Theme" and "Saber's Edge"

  • @Ioria8M Snow's theme is amazing, isn't it?? I think it's one of the best character themes :3 Oh and indeed, Will To Fight is just incredible, it's so inspiring.

  • @Ioria8M Mine are "Sabre's Edge" and "Desperate Struggle." Honestly, if all the composers of the FF OSTs and other Square Enix games (Junya Nakano, Hamauzu, and Uematsu) did a mediocre job or just put music up on the game for the game's sake, then the games would lose its appeal, fast.

  • My friends used to ask me why the hell my RPG games always manage to show 99:99+ on them. They use to make fun of me for "playing myself to sleep." But that wasn't the reason. I used to go back to a scene where a beautiful song would play - and listen to it & eventually I'd just fall asleep. Whenever I have a hard day of some kind, Masashi Hamauzu is the only composer ... no... the only music artist ... who's music makes whatever bothered me completely melt away.

  • It's such a shame he left Square-Enix, he's been the best composer they've had for

years. He truly is one of the greatest game composers of all time, and he left on a real high note, too (Another shame: replacing the theme song of Final Fantasy XIII, which he composed, with that generic crap in the overseas release)

  • @nor3paint yeah...you have right! We will never see another SaGa game composed by him T______T ( my dream was a SaGa Frontier 3 composed by Masashi Hamauzu)

  • @nor3paint i've heard that he's gone freelance or maybe started his own composing company or something, so it's possible he could return the square-enix or you might hear his music on a game by a different company altogether. can't remember where i heard that though. but yeah, it is a shame he left.

  • awesome compilation, this music is so great!

  • @Sorcerer88 yeah Hamauzu is great!

  • 0:04 what song is this

  • def my favourite composer since ffx

  • I have every single one of the songs in this tribute on my iPod. I'm a hardcore Hamauzu fan! May he compose many new soundtracks to come; can't get enough of his music!

  • wow i love masashi^^

    thanks! this was inspiring =D

  • thank you to you for post!

  • I now know Hamauzu's name thanks to the incredible battle scene music for FF13. Thanks for uploading this vid so I can discover his other work. This is great! 5 *s.

  • oh thank you so much! ^^

  • I wish the background didn't make the music title so hard to read

  • I understaund! you have right, I will fix in next videos!

but you referring to some specific song?

  • no,, I just thought the titles would be easier to read in general

  • Masashi is my fave!!

I've been hooked ever since SaGa Frontier 2, what an EPIC soundtrack!

And the Sigma Harmonics music is just incredible... it's a real shame they haven't released the game outside of Japan :(

I'm tipping FFXIII's soundtrack to be the best of the series... next to FFX of course :)

  • yeah Sigma Harmonics OST is beautiful...is a pity that not come out in Europe!

FFXIII OST...Will be LEGENDARY (I hope)

  • Man, Why does Aeolic Guardian, Store man, SaGa Overture/Battle Theme, Soaring Wings and It May Be Bright have to be just so darn catchy?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think Hamauzu deserves a round' for what hes brought us (and what he will via FFXII), can't get these themes out of my mind!

    SO bliss.

  • I think that Heartening "Dance of the Cornered Rat" is a one of best track by Hamauzu!

ehehe I'm glad to see another Hamauzu's fan! ^^

  • Wow That Chocobo theme, amazing.

  • My dream is to one day become a game composer, and Uematsu and Hamauzu have both inspired me greatly. :D

  • very good purpose! I hope for you!! Hamauzu is my favorite composer and yeah also Master Nobuo is Great!

  • Let Yasunori Mitsuda be your light.

  • Yeah, I like Mitsuda a whole lot as well, he's another inspiration. :D

  • He has a great sound, I loved Unlimited saga soundtrack.

And I know Final Fantasy XIII is going to sound great.

  • yeah Unlimited SaGa OST is Great and I FFXIII OST will be WONDERFUL!

  • Actually all of these songs you played were wonderful. I just never heard of them until now.

He's a really good composer one of the best in video games.

  • Yeah because are not very popular game

:( ...but Musashinden II Blademaster, Unlimited Saga and Sigma harmonics have a Beautiful Soundtrack!

  • Well from what I've heard they weren't very good games.

  • lol yeah unlimited SaGa, was not a good game(but com'n was not ALL bad eheh)!

Sigma Harmonics is good but is only in japan, Musashinden is not bad! But the true problem is the low popolarity respect at a Final Fantasy or at Dragon Quest! Very few people know SaGa OST or Sigma Harmonics or Musashinden II blademaster...Masashi Is a very "UNDERRATERD" composer, but now have composed Final Fantasy XIII OST...
