I know nothing of Lemmy's past but I guess there must once have been a trigger. I'm not a defender of religion and can empathize with him, however his experience couldn't have justified his atheism -- research and rationale are the only grounds for making such a decision, not emotion. Emotional rejection of faith is as dumb as blind faith itself.

'Course I'm not suggesting Lemmy never took the time to contemplate and make a logical conclusion. For most, anger/emotion is the case.

Lems mother was married to a priest. Aparently, the guy turned out to be a total arse and I believe he also left Lem&his mom at some point, weather it was before Lem was born or not I dont remember. However, atleast it shock'd Lemmy that someone spreading the gods word can be suchs a bad man, and therefor he lost his faith to god if he ever had any.
