  • THESE GUYS ARE SOOOO UNDER RATED!!! FANTASTIC WHEN U SAW THEM LIVE!!!

  • This song takes me back to the good old days :). this was huge back. Everyone was singing it. Its been more then 15 years since I heard this and im glad I found it on here. Puts a smile on my face. I actually remember most of the words not just the catchy chorus

  • My name is Dan Baird too o.O

  • lol this is a great song

  • IMO Dan was the glue that held the Georgia Satellites together. Glad there are more recordings by him either solo or from Dan Baird and Homemade Sin as well as the Yayhoos available, so there's never a shortage of his great music.

  • I was 28 when this song was released. I remember it on MTV back when MTV was good. Nice. Going to buy it. One of those hits I forgot to buy.

  • I love this song :D

  • before i heard this song i wrote a letter and that's pretty much how it went XD

  • classic great jam from back in the day period.

  • @timkenboy From back in the day? The song is only a few years old dipshit

  • @Gilch30

Sept. of 1992 is just a few years old?

  • @Gilch30 This was released in 1991, about 20 years ago...which is way more than a "few" years....dipshit.

  • What was the year this song came out?

  • @foxygirl29303 Late 1992. Hit the top 40 in January in 1993.

  • I heard this one on NPR this morning, when they were reading letters about grammar peeves. I thought - sounds like Georgia Satellites! I was close..

For Ms Bonita S, my 9th grade English teacher...

  • @hrothgleas I heard the same piece on NPR and had to youtube it. Cute song!

  • @mlady204103 Did you notice the ironic error 'here's the way that it should have went?'

  • @hrothgleas Nope, that one slipped past me. I had forgotten the grammar for gone and went. The irony is delicious that the teacher goofed while correcting her student.. Thanks for pointing it out. Do think it was deliberately written that way, or the songwriter couldn't find a word to rhyme with gone?

I understood what she was saying,

I got the gist of her sentiment

She said "I don't mean to be degrading,

"but here's the way that it should've went:"

  • my friend use to argue with me that he was the lead singer from the Kinks... ahhh that day I prooved him wrong was one lifes small little victories lol.. why do we even care about things like that lmao.

  • @tabithabells Speaking of small, little victories - it's 'proved.'

    And 'life's.'

  • Happy Punctuation Day!!

  • He is amazing - saw Dan at small invitation only venue in Bristol in 2006 - this track was in his set - the whole place boogied in sync !!!

    :)

  • wow looking for this song for a long time....woohoo!!!

  • great song that couldnt be done any better!

  • The lyrics are freakin' genius, man!

  • there are 8 people in this world t hat truly suck!

  • @BaileyPawn do you mean this really??? or is it just a joke which i did not understand?

  • this is the worst video ive prob ever seen it suks SOOO freakin bad

  • just got me London tickets!!! (4th July no less!!!)

  • He´s playing in DK 3 feb. .-)

  • Dan Baird, the only true Rock n' Roller left in the world. He uses 3 or 4 chords at must, but he makes so much out of so little.

    Keep Rockin' Dan!

  • @Lysystra

Yeah, you never get tired of this song. You downright can't get enough of it!

    It is a classic!

  • This takes me back to high school hangin' out in the lunch field...lol fun times!

  • I think a guy name Wim Oudijk actually wrote this song. Check that guy out, hes pure genius.

  • @tayloreh looking at the CD right now they guys last name is Anderson. So I dunno where you got your info from but that's not what this says.

  • @Guitarman5150 hmmm maybe the guy I thought wrote it just covered it and made it a hit in holland.

  • these is coand of weird

  • yeah dan!!!! rock on dude!!!!!!!

  • Good old steady Rock´n Roll!!!!!

  • bad video , but fun song!

  • This is one of my all-time favourite songs.

'I Love You Period' has everything that a good rock song should have...a driving beat, fantastic rhythm, lead, and slide guitar playing, great vocals, infectious chorus, clever lyrics and a superb production job.

I wish Status Quo sounded like this!

  • ace...

  • Damn good album was lovesongs for the hearin impaired..killer tracks like little dixie and julie and lucky

  • Silly lyrics, great guitar work. I have seen Dan twice and he tears it up!

  • I love my period, it's my husband up the wall with my crazy antics, I love my period

  • I remember my cousin playing this song over and over when I was little and visiting them. Occasionally the chorus of this song has popped in my head over the yrs and I've been trying to find it a while. He still thinks its funny that I know the words to it almost 20yrs later after only hearing it a few times.

  • I so remember this song from when I was like 8 years old. I'm 28 now and when I get drunk I yell out the chorus. I LOVE U PERIOD, DO YOU LOVE ME QUESTION MARK, PLEEZ PLEEZ EXCLAMATION POINT, I WANNA HOLD U IN PARENTHESIS!!!!

  • Now,if this video don't put a smile on yer face. Ya must be dead.

  • very cool song. i've liked it since the first time i heard it. It's one of the best i've heard from Dan. great but simple rock music. Love the sound.

  • i saw them on sweden rock!

  • great video

  • southern rock

  • saw a preview for the country music awards. about 15 bands were mentioned as potential winners. THERE WAS NOT 1 FUCKIN COUNTRY BAND MENTIONED. cant help but think ol' hank would be a bit sissapointed.

    dan gots the mojo, tho.

  • I couldnt agree more, they are so far from the spirit of Hank and Lefty. I do enjoy REAL modern country, like Dale Watson, but when people call that contrived cookie cutter soulless bad pop rubbish country I dont know whether to laugh or tear my hair out. Dan is true, honest rock n roll roots music, always has been, always will be, and he is one of the most undervalued songwriters in the history of rock n roll.

  • this is great.

  • I very much like it... Xp

  • this sortaf reminds me of Aerosmith...

  • a cowboy hat and a telecaster does not make you a country band. lets put the"o" back in country

  • I agree..country should be country ..and let rock be ...country to halt its decline has been invading rock and pop....come on Def...who ..

  • jasonloyd, there aint no country music today.

unless it came from yesterday. what they call "country" today is nothing more than, uh, lets say, "rural pop". george jones could whip all three of the members of rascal flats ass, stumblin drunk. and then write a COUNTRY song about it. "when kenny chesney writes a good country song, well play it. dont hold your breath, man". that quote was from hank fuckin moon, dj at 92.5 the outlaw. san antonio texas.

  • Its not even "rural" pop, seeing as many of em come from big cities or upper middle class suburban homes. They put on a cowboy hat or they have a steel guitar on some of their songs and they think thats country. Its as far from Hank, Lefty, Faron Young, George Jones etc as Blink 182 are from The Ramones. True country singers were as real as hell. Same as old blues and the original rock n rollers, there is no substitute for honesty, soul and authenticity.

  • no, zebradog7, its

    i love you.

    do you love me?

    please,please!

    (i wanna hold you)

  • A true Rock & Roller, I fucking love this guy.

  • I love you period

Do you love me question mark

    Please, please exclamation point

I want to hold you in parentheses

  • wow, this song is kinda old, but not really! lol... cool...

  • I LOVE this song, but I had forgotten all about it!! I'm so glad a friend sent it to me!! It rocks!!

  • "Punctuation that was never late"... Great line!!

  • I Love this song. These guys are Rock and Roll all the way but if they came out today they would be considered Country. I hate country. It seems like any white person with a guitar is now considered country. Its stupid , Are we going back to the musical segregation of the 1950s'!!!!!

Country music today screams I am a racist republican right wing idiot to me. Its a shame because many of the artists aren't.

  • i wasn't even born when this came out but i really like it xD

  • this song is still around, wow. I was in the 5th grade when this came out. every one in the school would sing this at lunch. talk about a flash black!

  • No B.S. straight forward rock 'n' roll. I love it!

  • This was such a jam in the summer of 92.

  • I'm not sure, but Love Songs for the Hearing Impaired may well be the album of the nineties. If the ageing Stones ever recorded anything half-way as good as Julie+Lucky or Dixie Beauxderaunt, the baby-boomer music press would wet themselves. Cumberland River and Lil' Bit off Buffalo Nickel are also stunning.

  • So well recorded. So well played. Such a great Tele Tone. An d I forgot how well directed and shot this vid was. Everyone involved with this should be damned proud.

  • Agree into the minute. MTV has rarely (if ever) cast a better reel; has stayed in my mind for all these years in between.

  • Man i loved the track...Julie and lucky and wake up Jake, and little Dixie beauxderaunt.....such a cool song i named my daughter Dixie.the cover of HUSH always blows me away....legend mr Dan Baird.

  • what the fuck do you know?.......you are a five star asshole. PERIOD!

  • haha, cool! that 1:45 piece is fabelous

  • Shut up.

  • Dan Baird is a Southern Fried David Minehan!

  • Ya man,you fags just go mash sum potatoes, this is classic back yard rocknnroll!

  • Yeah he is singing about a woman so i guess a fuckin queer like you would think it gay,Go check out backstreet boys or some shit.

  • If you were gay at the time, it's okay; but what's it got to do with this song? Do you wish you hadn't been of that disposition?

    Well, don't blame Dan Baird.

  • great lyrics

  • oh yeah just good ol boogie music man,if you ain`t tapping your foot you must be braindead man,.

  • so it is.

  • I love you period

Do you love me question mark

    Please, please exclamation point

I want to hold you in parentheses

  • haha i love the lyrics

  • Hey Tim, remember this song. Late nights in Glenrock Wyoming. I will always remember. Miss you

  • Thank you so much. I have been searching for it for ages.

  • Just my words

  • I can't believe I used to be married to him! Dr, Jane Wood Branam, author of Power Path to Love

  • I rolled all over the room because of this comment.
