Nice try but next time try to be more accurate. 1st) the non stop train takes 2h 38 and the rest trains 3h 10 min. 2nd) the distance is 630 km - 391 miles. 3rd) the train is faster than the plane if one includes the time to/from the airport as well as the check in time. 4th) UK and the rest EU countries have not been developing highways against railways but parallel - highway fetish started excessively in the US. 5th) China will be the country with the most km of tracks and not Spain in 2020

@dimiproto spain won't need more kms of fast train than china because china is bigger than spain. Relationing surface of the country vs kms of fast train...spain will head the list. I don't want to have a lot of kms, i want to have a fast train which will transport me to any capital city of spain in less time than plane. Thats the important thing.

the report delivers a complete lie, the train is not faster than the plane. the train is more efficient on trips less than 500 miles. the train also takes more energy to travel the same distance.  I love trains but they are not the best solution.

@circusboy90210 Actually the train uses an average of 1/3 the energy of a plane, and 1/5 the energy of a car. Trains are much cheaper and take much less space to build than roads and are cheaper to build and more efficient than new airports
