Yes some people legitimately live a gangsta lifestyle, the issue that I have is that the life style is unnecessary. Hip hop as a style is one thing, that's someone's style, but the violent, hyper-masculine, apathetic style of your traditional gangsta should be something anyone would *want* to be. Certain neighborhoods may force one to do that, or at least make it hard to do the opposite, but if that is the case it is too glorified by all types of media in my opinion.
