@dasgilde shoot you aint old you lucky you got to grow up to all this wonderful funky ,cool REAL music you know the kind they stopped making! bastards! well at least my parents played all these songs around ,me.lol i will love themalways!
That trumpet player had a lot of faith in his slides and mouthpiece not flying off and hitting him in the face! That's some talent(as well as guts haha)!
I was 15 yrs, old when this was on top. We wore hip-hugger, bell-bottom jeans then which are now being worn as, " low-rise, flair-leg jeans. Lol, time repeats it's self in clothing. If only this generation would get out and party as in dancing to music with rythm. There would be no need for diet pills & lipo-suction. That's what was great about the 70's & 80's music, it mae you wanna get up move ant dance your butt off,,,, :)
@LilOrphanFunkhauser I never tried that, I'll tell you one thing. In 1977 had to loose in 6- lbs, in really 4 day to get into a very slim fitting dress for a wedding. My Grandfather gave me 4 diet pills his DR had prescribed for him. I was busy helping get everything for the wedding' swimming 3 times a day, & dancing my butt off to any music, of course. I lost 8 lbs.by the morning of the 4th day...Lol...I wish I knew what that was, it's probably been pulled from the market by now. I felt great !
@kjk22956 The Spectrum...!!!??..I saw "Rare Earth" , Funkadelics" , and "Earth Wind and Fire" at the Spectrum in 1974....those were great days for creative music....
The seventies put out the best music hands down. Wild Cherry, Grand Funk RR, the Commodores, Earth Wind & Fire...and that's just the funk. In the rock genre...omg. The whole era rocked. I pretty much liked everything from that time.
Disco Ball 9 at Trump Taj Mahal Resort Casino Atlantic City, NJ on Saturday October 16, 2010. Starring Gloria Gaynor, Rob Parissi of Wild Cherry, The Trammps featuring Earl Young, Sister Sledge, Anita Ward, Santa Esmeralda starring Leroy Gomez, Rose Royce, Sugar Hill Gang, Peaches And Herb, Musique, Norma Jean Wright & Luci Martin formerly of Chic, Linda Clifford, original performance group of Lime, original village people cowboy Randy Jones, WCBS FM DJ Joe Causi & Smokin Joe Frazier.
It's too bad that people won't allow themselves to have this kind of fun anymore. The 70's was a state of mind, and that's the state I want to live in!
@thewhorocks524 - How about Spinner and Joni Sledge (of Sister Sledge) on this show "The Midnight Special" doing "Then Came You"? Do you have that one?
I always heard they were from Columbia S.C.
