You would be suprised. The mk3 VR6 is't as fast as people think. I have one as a seond car (daily driver) and they really aren't fast by any means. you have to keep them between 3500 and 6500 revs for any performance what so ever.

Funnily enough I took mine it into a VW specialist for a serivice and asked them to test drive it as it wasn't pulling very well, when i came to pick it up they said it was the fastest standard VR6 they had driven :)
