I have traveled to both islands recently. Jamaica made me scared shitless because I am a Lesbian and Trinidad I adore as I consider it a second home to me. I love both accents tho but not when spoken too fast. lol. I wouldn't say the Barbadian accent is harsh, but how am I to say that when I speak it. To others it may sound harsh just as such i usually ask my friends from Jamaica and Trinidad to slow down so I can understand them.

Granted I am a Bajan and I will say that we do have lots of LGBT people here, it is also why Barbados is a tourism driven country. LGBT people from around the world can come to Barbados without feeling the harsh sting of Gay/Lesbian bashing or worrying about being killed for simply being who they are contrary to Jamaica.
