I love your tips! But what do you suggest for not only mestrual cramps but for loose bowels and vommiting because the pills are my only option to help all of these. Are there some natural ways that I can make my monthly visit better? Thank you:)
I found an AMAZING solution for my excruciating cramps: omega-3 fish oil capsules, and vitamin B12 tablets. These two things have caused my excruciating cramps to all but disappear. If you have really bad cramps (dysmennorhea), it's caused by excessive inflammation of the uterus. Omega 3's are a natural anti-inflammatory and many women are deficient in them. When combined with B12, the relief is even greater. There was a Danish study done on this, Google it for more info on why this works.
Oh yeah I swear by a heating pad! In fact I have it on me right now! Sometimes thats the only relief I get. I try to take advil and pain killers but honestly, they just dont work anymore. I also try pamprin, but that knocks me out to the point where I'm so tired and dizzy I cant do a thing but lie in my bed. I'm definitely going to try taking vitamins, especialy if it gives you energy, which is the opposite effect of pamprin! Thanks so much for the tips!
Thanks for the tips here. I am blessed because I don't get menstrual cramps but suffer from headaches usually a week before my cycle. During this time, I try to say away from caffeine. I workout often, take multivitamins, drink non decaf green tea, and use PMS aromatherapy remedies/oils which tend to help. My headaches aren't as prevalent as they used to be. Thanks for sharing your info because one of my best friends suffer from them often and I will share this with her.
yes, ebony the heating pad does work wonders. i would like to add to that tip. For those who dont have a heating pad, you can get the same relief from a clean wash cloth. simply wet it lightly and place in a sterdy ziplock bag and mircowave for a coulple of minutes to your liking. wrap in a dry towel and place it on your lower tummy area or lower back area. this method has worked for me. so try this and see how it can work for you. stay blessed!!
I tried that Icy Hot and it really works! I suffer from severe menstrual cramps post R laparascopic salpingectomy. So I have cramps for a whole week before my period and they are very strong. Thanks for sharing these tips. When are you going to do another medical money?
ur quite welcome! imma add icy hot to my own routine! i have 2 coming up next week - i just moved into a new apt so i needed time to get settled, ya kno?! thx so much for askin!
I take black cohosh, vitamin C along with taking Folic acid since it's high in vitamin B (my cycle sometimes lasts up to 3 weeks due to my fibroids so vitamin B is necessary so that I don't end up too anemic).
Great tips. I eventually bought a heating pad. I use to get empty water bottles and fill them with hot water. That was my money saver. I also take potassium pills. As for being active, I'm the opposite, I have to take a nice long nap and I would always fill better when I wake up!
Excellent advice, a couple of additions I've found from suveys on cramps are Tiger Balm and applying pressure to the abdomen. Applying pressure is not only effective but cheap too...lol.
