I don't know what planet you are on but Cobra here is $1000 per month and if I go with the discount fly-by-night insurers for $500 - the cheapest available - my annual deductable is $2500 and no dental, no vision and no prescriptions. If heaven forbid it passes, people with nothing who try to go back to work, will have nothing to meet such a foolish law & won't bother trying. They will be in a no-win situation, either way doomed to imprisonment(for not paying the fine).
Prison for people in debt is medaevil history in a democracy. The bill is a vicious attempt to bankrupt/institutionalize and worse the poor and disabled and those who would help them do their best.

If it was a rational bill, Pelosi wouldn't have suggested breaking the rules to get it through NOW; it would be agreed to. Period. It will small business and with already alarming shortage of doctors, we might end up with no-charge/paid off med schools who rush through anyone or iow, medically incompetent and corrupted doctors. The good ones are already talking about leaving the US and advising kids to not go into medicine. Too many fatal consequences to list here.

I don't know what planet you are on but Cobra here is $1000 per month and if I go with the discount fly-by-night insurers for $500 - the cheapest available - my annual deductable is $2500 and no dental, no vision and no prescriptions. It's not a lie for over 30 million uninsured. I am happy you are wealthy and can afford it as can many employed citizens. But for the rest of us over 30 million it is not a lie. But I appreciate your anger over scapegoating insurance companies.
