  • Wait so the first time you rolled up the volume it was CLEAN?! That's ridiculously muddy.

I think I'll stick with my Dano 63 tuned as a bass VI. OH and not to mention the bass VI tuning on my Dano is less muddy than this midway bari tuning on this PRS!!!

  • Scott Ian Jackson

  • what the fuck are your problem?? great demo!!

  • u look gay dude

  • does it have thick strings cuz its tuned really low or just because the scale is so long.

  • @psyckla5 because it's tuned low

  • @psyckla5 both.

  • I agree with most of you guys, this isnt a SUPER good review, but he is a decent reviewer, watch his other stuff and youll know. Also he has too much saturation for that guitar, you cant even tell its a baritone!!!!!! huuruumfff!!!!

  • not the first prs baritone guitar... it's the first one available as a mass production model. benjamin burnley has been playing a custom prs baritone for a while now.

  • Did any one else fall asleep?

  • What riff are you playing? I want to learn it.

  • How does Mike play songs drop C# like in dysfunction with a baritone??? Does he tune down to A or B and just play high up on the neck, or can he tune it C#, some one help please cuz I'm fucking clueless, and want this guitar.

  • @mothertaco He tunes his guitar to drop C#.

  • @mothertaco Bb standard with a dropped Ab and Db

  • @mothertaco When playing in C#, he's using a PRS Standard 24, stock.

  • @mothertaco He doesn't use only one guitar! He swaps them for each songs.

  • damn this thing is HOOOOOOT!!!!!!! O.o WOOOW

  • anyone knows if this guitar got active, or passive pickups?

  • @TheChrispablo passv's

  • sweet guitar but this guy sounds funny when he says Baritone lmao

  • i want this guitar... so freakin' bad...

  • That hair..

  • "...real heavy riffing" (plays the exact same shit as before)

  • @The3rdStrikeIsOnYou you fail at being funny

  • @cromaticas - You fail in general.

  • I hate staind, but they sure have a nice guitar...

  • I got one today and am pretty excited. I own four U.S. PRS's and have to say that in terms of quality their imports are probably the most consistent, and the most likely to be a guitar you'll still hang onto when you get a little more money or graduate to a more expensive guitar.

  • what amp is being used here?!!!!!!!!

  • can i but a lower gauge of strings on this thing and then tune it to drop b and Bb?

  • @xx7tHsEaLxx Yes you can. I have a baritone V that I have for drop B with 10 gauge strings

  • WHAT AMP is this????? thanks!!!!!!!1

  • man, his distorted riffs are so gay in every video

  • @tetratheum agreed...but it's about the tamber/sound i guess, it's all good

  • I'm in love with PRS's because of Pete Loeffler of Chevelle

  • My son owns this....

  • "Let's get some real heavy riffing and see what this baritone can do"

    *Doesn't play Carcass*

    Huh?

  • @metldrummer2112 Exactly!

  • Does it come as a left handed model?

  • is a baritone in B standard?

  • The only thing better than this guitar would be a pete loeilfer signature guitar basicaly a moded PRS custom 24 with in baritone form with thicker strings that would be badass

  • This guy does not do good metal demos!

  • @Metallimeister he doesn't play metal well because he knows how to actually play other things that take more skill

  • @127ibenedict If he's so skilled, then he should be able to play metal easily... Your comment makes no sense.

  • @127ibenedict he doesnt play metal well because he's used to playing with other men's balls

  • can anyone tell me the tuning on this particular video! i played the exact same guitar at my local music shop today but it was tuned to B and the owner advised me against re tuining it to standard (EADGBE) i was trying to play something similar to what he was playing and it sounded nothing like it does... thanks!

  • @olivermichael88 It can be tuned to B Standard or A Standard.

  • @jquinn57 thanks mate but can it be tuned eadgbe?

  • @olivermichael88 Not at all. The reason it's low is the scale length, I believe it's 30" compared to a standard 25" scale. The strings are longer, and lower because of it.

  • @olivermichael88 you can. but youll have to get VERY thin strings from octave4plus

  • @deathcore1239 thanks bud! just the answer i was looking for!

  • @olivermichael88 no problem. the ONLY reason that he said you cant tune it to standard is because it comes with .14-.68 gauge strings haha and hes right, strings that thick cant do it. but if you put thinner strings on .09-.42 itll be great! by the way, you dont need the octave4plus strings. ernie ball super slinky's (.09-.42) are long enough to fit the guitar. if you want a bit more tension, you could go with the regular slinky's (.10-.46)

  • @deathcore1239 AWSOME, any idea how it would affect the overall baritone sound using those strings?

  • @olivermichael88 well the higher strings wouldnt sound quite as good but everything is about the same. itll sound as good as any regular scale 6 string you own, it will just feel longer (because it is)

  • @deathcore1239 ok thanks mate, i'll have to learn to play it well i guess lol! thank you for your help and information! appreciate it!

  • I'm definitely getting this instead of the Tremonti SE

  • now that is what i call lickage

  • Great Price, Superb Quality and best price point in a Baritone (to me) next don't laugh a Korean Re-issue Danelectro or Jerry Jones

  • I hate it when guitar companies use 3-way blade switches for only 2 pickups. Just throw a fuckin toggle on the thing and be done with it!

  • @PooPoo2U why complain about having more possibilities in sound? I use the middle position a lot when I'm recording.. I don't understand why people complain about things like the tone nob or the middle position in the switch... if you want a straight forward guitar get a Les Paul Junior or something... but leave other guitars the way they are...

  • @sIash90: What a stupid comment. A Les Paul has a 3-way toggle switch, this has a 3-way blade switch. Both offer only 3 different selections, duh huh.

  • @PooPoo2U Dude get your shit right. I said Les Paul Junior not a regular Les Paul. It only has one pickup therefor no toggle switch. My comment made sense. Yours was just ignorant.

  • @sIash90: Your comment made no sense because your comment was completely irrelevant. I said that there should be a toggle rather than a blade, you go on some moot point about Les Paul juniors.

If I'm discussing a toggle switch and you bring up a guitar that has NO switching then your comment is stupid.

  • @PooPoo2U Self Confidence +1

  • I find the massive distance between the pickups distressing...

  • @LWRCftw It actually better to have distance

  • Could someone tell me which tuning are ok for a baritone, except for the standard B tuning? I mean, could i tune it to D tuning for example without breaking the neck and keeping the playing comfortable? Would be nice to hear some comments...

  • @Themethalmaster

Probably could if you use lighter strings. Ask a guitar tech.

  • @Themethalmaster If you want to play in "D", just tune a regular guitar to "D". That is what I do, I also have a lowboy baritone guitar that is "B"....don't get a baritone if you are not going to play it in D, that is what they are scaled for

  • @habitualstudios Sorry, I meant to say play it in "b"

  • welll you say Paul is a fag?...he might be in someway cos he is definitely a BADASS player! XD

  • @awfulguitarplucker He's a great player, he just sucks at Metal. Very "Strummy" sounding with "light" palm muting

  • @habitualstudios Sucking at metal is a good thing...

  • Comment removed

  • Both clean and distortion sounds are lacking in clarity. I'm interested in this guitar and have nothing against Paul, I just wish I could hear clearer recordings of this guitar with more genre specific riffing. There's only one other guy who's done sound clips of this on youtube and he does terrible quality recording & playing!

  • It's a killer machine, but the only problem is that it has such a huge scale length, and still 22 frets.

  • Paul RULES!

  • what is that tuned to? because there's different baritones

  • @guitardude671 I think is tuned in B

  • @guitardude671 i think is tuned in "B"

  • @superluis1500 drop A#

  • i want this guitar so bad now

  • I'M GETTING THIS GUITAR JUST BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO!!!!! xD

  • @Runawayboy47 Please put some videos up or recordings?

  • @JamesENGL yea i'm recording a few things soon, so in the next couple of weeks.

sad thing is i havn't been able to find this guitar :(

  • Why can it have inlays!!!!!!!! :/

  • Bound fretboards are so fucking ugly.

  • "It's got PRS designed pickups" (focuses camera on headstock)

  • @LegoBen The camera was already there,(insert insult).

  • @Pannemat I got two thumbs ups (haha. haha)

  • selling this guitar on ebay if anyone is interested

  • I WANT THIS GUITAR

  • Baritones are the shit

  • ahh....i'll pass on this one

  • so if i tune this thing to e standard will it not be good and does that mean string bending would be harder cause of the long scale length?

  • @KingofPho75 It would be very difficult to tune this guitar to E standard. Not only would you need very very thin strings, but a super high tension and intonation problems would be found at every corner. From experience I know that most PRS guitars come standard with 10-48 strings. you would need something as thin as 8's or even 7's to achieve the tuning you would want. Now a nice alternative if you wanted the same basic sound would be a SE Paul Allender model.

  • which amplifier do you use?

  • Tune it to F man...

  • I prefer seven strings to baritones, but this is a nice sounding guitar. Paul makes better music than Staind, oddly enough.

  • is he gay?

  • @DIEGONOT247 Does it even matter?

  • @DIEGONOT247 You interested?

  • I got this guitar in sunburst it's awesome seriously \m/

  • haha paul needs some grammer lessons.

  • @trentotv

You're saying that someone needs GRAMMAR (not grammer, you dumb shit) lessons when you can't even spell? Yeah, big man over here. Trentotv, remember the name. Actually you sound like a tool. If I ever see you, I will not hesitate to punch you in the throat.

  • Do want.

  • The tones from this guitar are awesome :)

    As always, awesome review Paul!

  • Does anyone know what is the name of the arpeggios progression that Paul plays on the clean channel, is it his own composition or is it a Staind's song ? Thank you.

  • please make it mine *-*

  • so sexy

  • dude after seening this i sooo want baritone guitar now,im diffently picking me up one when i get me a new guitar :D

  • 4:00 to 4:35 is some pretty sick riffing \m/

  • Awesome Guitar

  • This isn't beefy/heavy enough of a sound for a baritone.

When I hear of PRS making a baritone, it makes me think it should sound like it's straight from a stoner/doom metal band.

  • @LoveYourMonsterMusic GOD DAMN YOU lol. I now have to listen to Electric Wizard... Not that it's a bad thing haha

  • @Beckettlol I listen to Electric Wizard in my car... VERY often.

  • @LoveYourMonsterMusic I don't know man, I was playing some Bongzilla on this very guitar in Sam Ash last month and it sounded pretty fuckin dank to me

  • @LoveYourMonsterMusic I think its perfect for baritone... anymore and it would just be a six string bass.

  • @Aurelius27x I'm not talking about neck length, it needs some dirtier pickups. Obviously you can change that yourself, but for something of this price and quality, shouldn't have to spend 50-150 bucks on pickups.

  • @LoveYourMonsterMusic Idk, 600 bucks for a PRS I wouldn't expect much in the pickup area. SE models are shit.

  • @Aurelius27x FUCK that, the SE models are awesome and better than basically any other guitar in their price range, and better than any other subsidiary company like Epiphone, Squier, etc

  • The guitar sounds as if someone had stuffed a blanket into its mouth :-)

  • that guitar it's perfect for me, i just need to change the pickups for emg's and it's perfect, elegant, simple and awesome

  • Very nice sounding guitar and cool riffs....does anyone know what tuning it is played on?

  • @SanjeevGeorgeV well its a baritone guitar so I would say B tuning

  • @SanjeevGeorgeV hes playing in Drop B but i would say the best tuning to play on a baritone guitar is Drop A#

  • @crewin97 actually i think he's playin in Drop A sorry about that :)

  • It's an ebony fretboard.

  • That's a really cool axe. I just got my hands on a Staind CD from the library and there's some pretty heavy guitar work there.

  • hey, might i ask what type of wood the fretboard is made of? i am thinking of building a guitar and i am want m neck to have that kind of fingerboard. does ther hapen to be any sort of like grain cracks in it or somthing? id like to have a very smooth fretboard to make things easier.

  • @evhguitarstv43608 Not an expert, but looks like rosewood. Go to the PRS site.

  • @Falling2Grey29 o okay thank you very much for your help

  • that axe looks fuckin beautiful

  • man play in drop A hahahahaha

  • this is one of the PRS models im looking to buy, although i like the other Mushok guitar color better personally, the other im looking at is the Paul Allender model with the active pick ups. But from what Ive heard on this video, Im liking this model very much. Cant afford the Mira model but you cant go wrong with PRS either way.

  • Gotta love the PRS heel-from-hell. Jeezus that's ugly.

  • jeeze im inspired

  • Paul rocks! Screw you haters!

  • @rockingrugger He's good, he just sucks at presenting metal guitar tones, cuz he palm mutes very light and "dainty" and plays very "strummy" when it comes to metal stuff. He is great at chords other styles of music, he should just NOT demo metal amps or guitars!

  • @4:28 that was nice!

  • I really admire this guy

  • i like playing in low tunings but do i need a baritone guitar or can i just use thicker strings??

  • @BreakingBenniBoyA7x both are good choices

  • @BreakingBenniBoyA7x it lets you use thinner strings and downtune with more stability. i have use .14's on my standard 25.5" scale guitar and i could tune it from drop g all the way to drop c. i had to resetup my guitar in order to compenstate for such thick strings. i have played baritones with their standard tuning of B E A D F# b with .14 gauge strings and they have a much more solid feel. i pefer the baritone guitar over a standard in these tunings.

  • so what if he blows boys... i dont give a fuck its none of my business... and all you fukkas are making his PRIVATE business mine by airing it in public..... kiss off you inbreds. im straight i have played with gay folks in bands all my life and worked along side them as well. Id do it in a heart beat again.

  • the guy plays the guitar really fine :)

  • That guy is 100% gay

  • paul gives me a bad vibe

  • thats just too low for me. might as well just get a 7 string and down tune

  • @ryankuisti have you played a 7 string? it feels like a completly different instrument the first time!

  • @Zorlak108 ya not really. little longer scale and wider neck. plus you can actually hit higher notes for soloing

  • i have this guitar and IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish it had 24 frets.

  • @thecuriouspatron it have 24 frets mate :-)

  • fucking stupid car commercials cluttering up youtube

  • It's funny to watch him actually figure out how to play the guitar through the demo. Like when he's playing it distorted the first time, he's playing it too light handed and then he figures it out and starts slamming on the strings like you're supposed to with this guitar.

  • Could someone please help me Im trying to decide between this guitar and a prs 25th aniv. SE custom 24. Both are lovely guitars but which should i get. I would be playing softer stuff like Breaking Benjamin or Alter Bridge if that info helps your recommendation

  • @ApocalypticLarry50 I have had this one for almost a year now. It is by far my new favorite guitar. Hands down get the baritone over the SE custom....

  • @XFattMonsterX

thanks. i really found it hard to chose

  • @XFattMonsterX I'm thinking of getting this guitar myself, how difficult is it to adapt to the longer scale length?

  • "Lets play some heavy stuff now..*plays harmonic slide for an hour*"

    I lol'd

  • he looks like mike mushok with a little bit of michael j. fox XD

  • he didn't play any RED. Jasen uses this very guitar.

  • I've been trying to decide on a bari for a while now. Kinda wish he would demo using more styles of music. I play many different styles. Anybody show me something I haven't seen yet??

  • this guy has the best job ever!!!

  • I have my sights set on a Carparelli Bari-Tone. Wicked guitar!

  • buzik

  • What a fucking beautiful kick ass guitar, holy shit

  • I dont know what baritone guitar means? Does it mean that it is tuned to drop B? Can any guitar be baritone?

  • @AHMADF93 Baritone tuning is BEADG#B. So yes, any guitar can be tuned to baritone tuning, but here baritone guitar means that the guitar is especially made for this tuning, because of its longer scale, which means that the tension of the strings is higher and helps keep the tension needed for such a low tuning with less thick string gauge.

  • @RedSkyWhisper That's not true. If you want a normal, standard guitar tuning, but just in B, it would be B E A D F# B, not B E A D G# B.

  • @varulv234 Yeah yeah anybody with minimum logic would understand that I was mistaken when tuning to baritone

  • i like the riff he plays on the clean channel. sounds amazing on the neck pickup.

  • can we just talk about the guitar please?

  • He does seem a little fruity, but he can play pretty good so.... I suppose all is well that ends well.

  • To all of you people who think Paul's a fag or he's gay, what would you rather? Some macho man or someone who "talks less and plays more"? What an example of how bad people are at judging music these days. I've been watching these reviews for Guitar World for 3 years and to this day wouldn't even think I could do Paul's job or play as good at him.

He can most likely shred better than you, plays blues and jazz better than you, knows more about gear than you, and he isn't an asshole like you.

  • @skeetv123 he's a fantastic player, and a truly knowledgable musician, but i sometimes find his mannerisms a bit annoying.
